Tired of shitty think tanker's China collapse theory, so I will give them a better one:

China will never be successful because it is passive. Throughout history nations become strong or weak. When China is strong, they feel self-righteous and stop expanding itself. When smaller countries become strong, they expand and exterminate any future competitors. China never take advantage of its strength, so it is only a matter of time when it becomes weak again and get taken over by currently weaker neighbours. All you need to do is making Chinese feel self-righteous and leave them alone, and they will implode on itself.

I saw on CNN last night they did a story upset that China is allowing that Civil War movie to play in China. They don’t like how it’s being used as anti-American propaganda. Well they can choose not to have it play in China. What would really be telling is if Beijing leaves that scene in where the guy is killed for being Chinese.

Yup if there is one constructive criticism of China is that its too forgiving, at times too passive to almost borderline naive when it comes to the extent certain hegemonies will go towards containing, reducing, sabotaging China etc

It's a huge oversimplification but that exact pattern existed for all empires that ever rose and fell in history.

Some of them, yes. But many other empire expand until they make a fatal mistake and lose. Germany and Japan for instance. I would say feeling self righteous and being passive are minority of empires.
