I guess the Germans really wishing they could just go back to the good old days:
Not saying that they aren't laughable but we really need Chinese media to stop fucking scoring own goals in communication.

The LAST thing Huawei needs is people like this trying to 'advertise' for them. I am struggling to connect how 'socially adept' the bureaucracy is said to be in China, with the absolutely atrocious level of EQ and self awareness on display here.

It takes 10 Zhao Lijian and Chen Weihuas to negate the negative influence of 1 of these guys. Imagine NYT reporters resorting to open sexism for women not buying Apple or something.

How significant was this Mate 60 Pro?

I am beginning to think, that is it right up there with the PVA crossing the Ya Lu River, or the Tet Offensive.

This is not exactly war, but you know what I am talking about. Those other actual war events, changed everything.

The appearance of this phone, and its specs, the industrial power behind that to make it possible, this feels like it will change everything too.

Come to think of it, the American reaction is the same, to all three events, stunned disbelief, their mouthpieces retreat in total silence.

At a minimum, we can safely assume, just like when PVA crossed the border, and the Tet Offensive, it changed the course of the war, and in turn it changed the course of history.

It is what Carl von Clausewitz said, that war is just an extension of the political process.

This tech war, I like following the tech aspects of it, and of course the various economic issues as well. Politics, I don't follow.

Therefore, this phone I know is a political event too. However, I do not believe anyone really knows what the fallout will be? Even though I suspect it will change everything.

The Korean War cemented the Cold War for the next phase in the history of North East Asia, which we still live with today. The Tet Offensive was the beginning of the end for the Americans in Vietnam.

There is one detail, that there is a stark difference between the PVA crossing the Ya Lu and the Tet Offensive. The former was really a defensive act. The latter was an attack.

The Mate 60 Pro, is a counter-attack by China Inc in the tech war. This is an opening shot of it, this new offensive.

More will happen.
I think eventually there will be movie or TV show made about Mate 60.

If it was me I'll name it "Roaring Across the Horizon 2: No, QNMD!"

I'm back in China at the moment and even just walking through shopping mall here in Nanjing you can overhear random people just talking about it in conversation.

if you want to look at what a 'democratic' China looks like, look at India or Philippines.
Not really. There is almost no commonality in values or culture between China and those groups.

The current China practices democracy based on it's own development and leftist thinking. You can arguably say that a democratic China likely just looks as the one we have right now. But if you mean a same type of democracy as US/Russia/EU, China would likely resemble Japan/SK more than anything else.

Ruled by a small group of nationalist technocrats, with a more volatile situation for the working class and a lot more overwork. Reactionary public opinions, more aggressive government but possibly also more apathetic population (like Japan). Also more unequal between rural and urban.

Anyone who’s ever worked in an American or British multinational will quickly realise why Indian and Filipino workers in the west are so favoured by the white Anglo regime: mealymouthed, white worshipping, self hating to the point that they live for white approval.
And this is what the Anglo led west wants from all non white non Caucasian nations.

for all their talk of leading from the front, the Anglo empires I and II being a nation of merchants, lack the testicular fortitude of say, the venetians who similarly controlled a Mediterranean trade empire against the rising ottomans.

Xi Jinping to Skip G20 Summit in New Delhi, Chinese Premier Li Qiang to Attend Instead

This will be Li's first visit to India as premier.
New Delhi: Close on the heels of speculation that Chinese president Xi Jinping may be giving the G20 meet hosted by New Delhi a miss, The Wire has learnt from sources that it is Chinese premiere Li Qiang who will attend the event.

Indian authorities, the sources said, had known for a month that Xi will give the leaders’ summit a miss.
Even more interesting.
