This could also be tit-for-tat, as China has recently opened group tours to US, Japan, SK, and Australia, giving their tourism industries a needed boost.

Tbh, I don't know if this is worth it (if that's everything that will be conceded).
The important thing to remember is Raimondo is trying to get a trip to Beijing and not Wang Wentao trying to get a trip to Washington, that shows who's in position of strength here.

Anadolu Agency. “Police hand over investigation to US authorities following deadly dispute in German town of Wittlich.”
Two US servicemen detained on suspicion of stabbing a local young man to death, officials confirmed Sunday.

The 28-year-old victim was on his way home when a quarrel broke out and he was stabbed near his front door. He was the manager of a security service and was known as a martial artist in Wittlich.

The two servicemen were with two other people at the funfair and all four of them fled the scene following the stabbing.

The Trier prosecutor's office has handed over the case to US prosecutors in accordance with a NATO statute.

Hmm, is this a symbol of things to come? I don't know. The US sure has a history of putting prison and minorities in the same sentence. Or in this case, the same neighborhood.

But one thing's for sure, NYC Chinatown is not gonna be the same. Next time some criminal gets arrested in NYC, the cops might tell him: "You're goin to Chinatown!"
Or it could be a 9D move to finally rid the area of persistent street crime
