I won't be surprised if China one day regrets having helped UN sanction Korea to please US.

"what little help China has provided." What? How is any of this China's fault? In fact, why push all the work onto China if they wanted NK to succeed? Literally the same as any other articles blaming China for the stupidest things.

You guys can check out LiNing and Anta if you're looking for shoes. A lot of Chinese youths now choose them instead of Nike and Adidas for their sneakers. They have good design, quality, and collaborate with superstars like Klay Thompson and Dwayne Wade.

Funnily, Anta's logo is like a reoriented LiNing logo.

Some of their shoes go for hundreds of dollars because of premium design and quality.

And of course MUJI China's online store is currently featuring Xinjiang cotton apparel.

I mean China's fault on the UN sanctions is very minimal. China cant approve the crazy stuff Kim did every day back then.

China has "face" and it must show that it is a responsible power, so by taking all these crazy actions, Kim doesnt give diplomatic space for China to block the sanctions.

And China could veto the sanctions but then it would require solid assurances that these actions wouldnt happen again because China would be seen responsible for blocking the sanctions in the first time

Wow!
Biden is seriously deluded. How exactly does he plan to "prevent" China from getting stronger?

Biden better go back and retire and live the rest of his life peacefully without imposing his delusions to the rest of the world..

Edit: I give him credit though that he can at least see this from China's perspective
Well does this mean Kamala Harris has to wait longer on the sidelines? She's clearly waiting to sub in for Biden.

As of today. The US military is still allowed to fly assets in and out of Afghanistan via routes crossing SCO member states. They are already moving Al-Qaeda and ISIS terrorists back and forth between Syria and Afghanistan as of now. When the US want to fly In Uighur terrorists from Syria to Afghanistan, its gonna be just business as usual.

It would be nice if the SCO can unite to deny access to US flights in and out of Afghanistan. But I doubt that that could actually materialize. It could create massive tensions with the US and NATO.

I don't think China will have too much difficulty stopping terrorists from entering into the country. What I am really concerned is that terrorist attacks could also happen outside of China.

It has happened before. We must recall the 2015 Bangkok bombing. The attack targeted the Erawan Shrine. A popular tourist spots for ethnic Chinese tourists. Among those killed are Thais, Mainland Chinese, HKgers, Malaysians, a Singaporean, and an Indonesian. All of the non-Thai victims were ethnic Chinese. I was a tourist at Bangkok at that time, but fortunately at another area. I could just as easily have visited that shrine on that day. The bomber was connected to the Grey Wolves Turkish terrorist group who were involved in the trafficking of Uighur terrorists from China to Turkey, and then to Syria. Thailand was just a transit point. The bombing was perpetrated as revenge after Thai authorities caught a few Uighur terrorists and repatriated them back to China.

This is a very real danger if another wave of Islamic terrorism is being launched against China. Chinese citizens and ethnic Chinese could be targeted outside of China. If the Grey Wolves and ETIM could not kill Chinese in China, they can very well switch to target Chinese overseas. Citizens or not.

This is why I feel very angry about what the US and friends are doing with Xinjiang, the Uighurs and ETIM. They are on the path, whether consciously or not, to support and sponsor terrorism that specifically targets Chinese people in China and around the world. And when an attack really does happen, it can be easily blamed on China. The victims be damned. They couldn't care less about Chinese lives. That is pure imperialist evil.

Outside of China. We can only hope and pray that our respective security forces are up for the task to prevent any more terrorism.
The US can’t get to China easily while assets, intels, etc.. are in China proper. But when these are outside of China, such as in B&R countries, they become easy targets.

Yeah all those years towing the line to sanction North Korea. Now America and SK has dreams of turning NK into another Vietnam against China, with nukes. This is the reward that China is getting.

The writing is already on the wall. It is no longer in China's interest to help the US, Japan and SK suppress NK. I think China is already helping to develop NK's economy. Even its military. We saw all their new stuff in their last military parade. But I believe the Kim family in NK still probably does not want to open up the country more. And China is respecting their sovereignty to do that.

Very much this. Kim is a lot smarter than some people give him credit for and you call tell he wants a closer relationship with China from all the stuff he's signalling. Notice how in last year's parade his boys abandoned the Soviet style march and instead switched to PLA style march so they don't seem as bouncy? That's not a coincidence. As soon as the unrest in Hong Kong started in 2019 North Korea came out with a scathing piece in their state media with the tone of "just give the word uncle and I'll crush them all under my steel tread". China had to calm him down.

Word (from 观棋有语) is this year he wants to start a Deng style economic reform as well as put in a rule that his successor no longer has to be from the Kim family.

Kim is certainly a smart man and rightly doesn't trust the West. Afterall he saw the Libyan example play in real time.
The next step has to be him opening up his nation atleast to China. Let there free flow of people, private investment.
