US leads China only in standing military size (aside from all the sarcastic measures like prisoner numbers or opium addicts).

A standing military alone does not a more powerful nation make. Economy size, productive ability, research output, automobiles and aircraft manufactured, there are many more important measures than just having a large peacetime standing army.
