I don't think Australia has such a serious problem as some people think. Quad (US) strategy is to promote India's growth so that they can redirect some of the lost exports to india. Yes I know that this will take some time but it will happen. I expect India in 2021-2023 will approve a major infrastructure program which will boost Australia's exports.

That's why the West will turn a blind eye to India's growing nationalist authoritative regime. This is a life or death battle for the US, so they will try to help Modi as much as possible. Expect rising tariffs or bans for products imported from China so that they can boost their industries and to ensure that foreign money wont flow to China

India has a very strong hand to play currently, cant wait to see how much they milk the Americans
The real winner of all this is India in the long term.

US China conflict is here to stay for the next decade or more. Modi is becoming more authoritative; clamping down on dissent and freedom. That’s what’s needed to do nation building in a chaotic country like India. India will grow. That’s almost guaranteed. The West will help it grow and provide it with plenty of technology and support.

Again @Petrolicious88 on the contraire, siding with the west instead of development they need to spend more on their military to match themselves against the Chinese and America will not allow another China to exist. Its wishful thinking on the part of Indian political elites. They need a major structural reform fast both economically and socially and that may take decades to complete. Instead of fixing the problem their priority had dwell on religious sectarianism further dividing the country.

Agree, China and Pakistan can both cooperate to create a two front war fast. So India actually needs to protect multiple borders.

But more importantly India's biggest problem is probably its ever living caste system their society keeps on holding on too.
Time will tell if Indians can realize their dream.

@BlackWindMnt bro what is so vexing about India, The Political Elites doesn't care and the people had fatalistic attitude. The problem is staring right in their faces and they ignored it. Its a continuous cycle of grind and poverty. The only way to escape is to go abroad. And you're right the caste system is the main problem that is why the premise of @Petrolicious88 (India will grow. That’s almost guaranteed. The West will help it grow and provide it with plenty of technology and support.) statement is wrong (sorry bro just stating a fact).

India as we speak is heading towards a civil war. The hatred against the 200 Million Muslims here is crazy. No country can ever become a strong nation if its driven by hate and prejudice. Modi has nothing to show economically and that's why his entire politics is centered around dehumanizing Muslims.
Eventually it'll reach a a boiling point and millions will die. Good luck then asking any country to invest in such a shi**ole.

China should let its secret services get some real training on India. Start funding rebels, radical Muslims and messages about independence.

It would be fair play as India has started using the Tibet card

You're right about that. Indian Muslims are subservient. The only Muslims that did oppose the Hindutva regime are the Kashmir Muslims for whom India has deployed a million armed troops.

@voyager1 that my friend is on the cards with Pakistan complicity, Indian Society had a lot of fissure that both China and Pakistan can exploit. Development need time, money and peace with the way the Indian foreign policy is being crafted they miss the most important ingredients to succeed.
