Unlike China and Russia, Turkey is still heavily reliant on US and Europe for security, finance, and everything else, hence the response will never be the same. That is the case also for most Islamic countries today. Even if they wanted to help Palestine, there is not much they can do without incurring severe self-damage which none, except Yemen, are willing to take.
Turkey has every opportunity to be independent but It has this Europhile population that wont allow it. both US protection and Arab wealth will likely be reduced from Europe and that will have negative impact on Turkey and you can already see who they are blaming. Arabs can easily create greater India and greater Israel and who knows what else they can create. All the previous wars these two countries fought they were opposed by Arabs while Europe/Turkey enjoyed the investments.

LOLOL This is so hilarious it's not even just excluding Chinese cities. I fucking LOL'd at the office when I saw DC and Chicago on the list. Those are cities know worldwide for gang violence. I personally lived in DC for and my communual house was broken into and robbed 3 times in 6 months, one incidence in which a male white housemate exiting the shower was almost raped by a naked intruder (whom he managed to fight off). I've heard gunshots twice. I've seen a man throw a brick at a woman on the street and not a single other person cared or thought it was worth noting. As for Chicago....

You guys can forget about China; they wouldn't give us our fair due for anything but they should at least acknowledge other countries. Kazaknstan is super safe; basically every major city in Japan/Korea is super safe. There are cities in the US itself that are way safer than DC and Chicago. There's just no way you could get down to those 2 LOLOL This is funnier than the COVID preparedness list they made, in every way.
I can't speak for DC, but my friend in Chicago go to a prestigious university for graduate study. There are mass shooting every couple weeks around campus. Even after he graduate he still get email notifying mass shooting every couple weeks. It is really bad even for US standard.

DC is really surprising. I would think where politicians live thse people try keep their backyard safe. But I guess even that is too much to ask for.

So amongst the top ASEAN nations, China can only count on Vietnam and Indonesia for now, as PH is in the pocket of US, MY is now anti China, and SG is always on the fence. It's getting difficult for China to maneuver.

BTW, any chance Dr Akmal is funded by a 3 letter agency?
Actually, China is trending way up in ASEAN compared to a decade ago. I mean even the idiot collin koh admits it.

Army Eyes Dramatic Cuts to Key Education Benefits for Soldier

The Army is eyeing a dramatic cut to the Army Credentialing Assistance program, or Army CA, next year to curb costs in what could be one of the biggest benefit shifts aimed at enlisted troops in years.

Army CA was introduced force-wide in 2020 as a complementary benefit to traditional scholarship programs. Instead of being intended to be used for college degrees, the program gave soldiers $4,000 per year, for civilian credentials -- such as qualifications in coding languages, cybersecurity, personal training, commercial driver's licenses and other skills that can help them in the civilian world or supplement their military career.

Now, the service is looking to reduce that benefit to $1,000 per year and never to exceed $4,000 across a career -- and those credentials must serve the soldier's job, meaning an infantryman may not be able to get certifications in cybersecurity fields -- reverting back to an earlier style of the benefit. That limited benefit would struggle to cover the costs of most quality civilian courses and licensing.

Those moves are still in planning stages, according to multiple sources directly familiar with the situation, and documents and internal emails reviewed by Military.com. The Army did not return multiple requests for comment in recent days.

"This is not living up to the promise [soldiers] thought they had," Jeff Frisby, executive director at the Enlisted Association of the National Guardof the United States, told Military.com. "With recruiting, for people who wanted those robust education benefits, now they realize this might not be something they want to do."

At the time the benefit fully launched in 2020, Army officials touted it as both key for soldiers to transition out of the service, making them potentially qualified for jobs immediately upon leaving the military, and for soldiers to get additional skills they can bring into their daily military jobs.

"Active-duty, Guard and reserve soldiers can now secure a competitive advantage -- on and off the battlefield," then-Sergeant Major of the Army Michael Grinston, who has since retired, said in a press release when the program launched.

The news comes as the Army has struggled to meet its promise to deliver education benefits to its rank and file, a key recruiting tool.

The service has in recent years had major technical snafus paying out benefits to schools. That led to soldiers paying for college out of pocket when Army IgnitED, the online tool that processes tuition payments, effectively crumbled under the enormous weight of numerous glitches in 2021. The platform was not fully functioning again until last summer and the service has since reimbursed those families.

Meanwhile, some major states have curtailed education benefits for National Guardsmen.

In Virginia, troops must have at least two years on their contract at the end of every semester -- effectively forcing them to constantly prolong their service beyond the initial agreed-upon contract. Texas slashed its tuition assistance program as its sprawling border protection mission's cost ballooned.

"I hope we realize this $1,000 coverage isn't going to cover anything," Frisby said. "That makes the benefit inefficient."

Yeah my uncle went to school in Chicago way back. Said once he had 2 computers stolen from his room. Went to the police and they were like,

So now he tells people the only positive thing he can say about the safety in Chicago is that it didn't kill him living there.

Not that surprising. If they could keep it under control anywhere, they could just repeat the same methods everywhere. But they can't. The places that are safer in the US are because the thugs don't bother to hit it or haven't worked their way there yet. Where they wanna strike, it doesn't matter if it's in the middle of the hood where cops don't dare go or in a luxury mall on Beverly Hills, they can't be stopped.

"Free" American media always seem to implies everything is on China's fault.

Here is China's viewpoint

Xi Jinping emphasized that the Taiwan issue is the first insurmountable red line in Sino-US relations. We will not let the separatist activities and external connivance and support of the "Taiwan independence" forces go unchecked. We hope that the U.S. will implement Mr. President’s positive statement of not supporting “Taiwan independence” into action. The United States has launched an endless stream of measures to suppress China's economy, trade, science and technology, and the list of sanctions against Chinese companies is getting longer and longer. This is not "risk removal" but creation of risk. If the United States is willing to carry out mutually beneficial cooperation and share the dividends of China's development, China's door will always be open; if the United States insists on suppressing China's high-tech development and depriving China of its legitimate right to development, we will not sit idly by.

The U.S. is not and never will be interested in A PEACEFUL RISE OF CHINA NOR A PEACEFUL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OF EAST ASIAN COUNTRIES - Japan, Korea, China.

Take a moment of your time to listen to this talk at Brown University (one of the top IVY League American schools) featuring Japanese-American Prof. Mike Mochizuki with Lyle Goldstein. The topic at hand pertains to the Sino-Japan relationship and where the relationship is heading going forward. It discussed how publicly, unlike the U.S. Japan never followed suit the American public pronouncements of the One China Policy, rather Japan simply refers to the 1972 communique as their basis. However, according to Prof.Mochizuki, THE JAPANESE DO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT TAIWAN IS A CHINESE INTERNAL MATTER.

P.M. Yukio Hatoyama had won a landslide victory where for the first time a major opposition party won the majority of the seats. One of Hatayoma's core campaign promise was to remove/relocate the agreed upon base of Marine Corp Air Station Futenma in 1996 that didn't go anywhere - essentially the U.S. LIED and was never interested of following through (rules based order my butt). Secondly, and most importantly, Hatoyama made what would have been the most majort recalibration of Sino-Japan relationship with the "EAST ASIA COMMUNITY" (EAC).

According to the professor, the Americans under OBAMA was alarmed since a potential forging and strengthening of the two leading East Asian countries absent U.S. involvement means an AMERICAN exit and influence in the region and thus the formulation to kick out Hayotoma from his post (Americans are so stupidly arrogant and obnoxious of their righteousness that they could never see themselves wrong). Within months of his tenure he was forced to resign. Yet, we're constantly being told/lied to that AMERICA NEVER MEDDLES OR INTERFERE AGAINST ANY COUNTRY, AND MOST ESPECIALLY AGAINST THEM PRECIOUS "DEMOCRACY."

Comrade, I suggest that you re-read On Contradiction and what is needed now will become clear. For now the primary contradiction on which all else rests is the contradiction inherent in the unequal exchange between the global hegemon and its closest vassals on the one hand, and the entire rest of the world on the other.

Only by resolving first this primary contradiction can we move to the next stage of international socialist revolution.

The lessons we need to learn from the Mao era and the experience of th USSR during the Cold War is that we must not be impatient - to resolve this contradiction and to create the material conditions that may result in global revolution will require the work of generations.
I'm confused. Unless my historical knowledge is completely off, wasn't Mao the one who had China export ideology and arm Communist insurgents? I'm quite certain Deng was the one who put a stop to these things upon request by SEA.
