“This is not about NATO moving into Asia, but instead about the fact that China is coming close to us,” Stoltenberg told attendees at the exclusive Davos gathering, insisting the US-led alliance remains “regional” in its focus.

I wasn’t aware that NATO accused China for being closer to NATO as they are making plans to move into Asia. Rehashing their Russia strategy.

Jans Stoltenberg is just rehashing what has been said for ages now.
There are too many Chinese people in Vancouver.

From there it's a matter of simple logical connections
Vancouver is in Canada... Canada is an Atlantic Country... China is coming close to NATO

i remeber this turd whining how all these court cases mean he won’t have enough money for retirement. Probably the only decent economic analysis he’s done in his entire life.
Wouldn't this let Kurds go down the drain? I think it would be quite bad for the US to just let another ally down the drain like it in terms of image.

Did Lloyd Austin survive that prostate procedure in Ukraine after all?

great interview with Jeffrey Sachs on the futility of the Anglo led west trying to stop chinas rise. Apparently they think if they drink poison it’ll hurt China, but what happens if they continue to drink poison and China has successfully de-risked itself from the US?

I hope this is the end of the theft of Syrian oil but it's more likely that Murican PMCs take over operations and the region continues being destabilized.

American PMC won’t be there if the US military withdraws from both Syria and Iraq. Without the US military, those PMC will have to calculate the risks of the Syrians or Turks making large moves against the Kurds.

That won't happen. PMC is essentially outsourced suppliers (sub-contractors) to major manufacturers in industry, with US military being that major manufacturer. If major manufacturer has no business, sub-contractors loose jobs too. It is a relationship of fur and skin.

To save money, India's local governments "mistakenly" cut pensions to elderly by marking them as "deceased" and refuse to give money even after confronted in person.

According to data presented by the government in the state assembly in August last year, it stopped the pensions of 277,115 elderly citizens and 52,479 widows in a span of three years because they were “dead”. Such anomalies were not restricted to old-age pensions alone. Beneficiaries of disability and widow pensions, and other welfare schemes such as subsidised food, have also been excluded.

The state, however, continues to not just defend but even expand the programme.
India spends roughly 13% of its GDP, or close to $256bn, on providing welfare benefits to about half the country’s population. Worried that such benefits were being usurped by ineligible claimants, the federal and several state governments have increasingly relied on technology to eliminate "welfare fraud".
out of the total 63,353 beneficiaries whose old-age pensions were halted based on PPP data, 44,050 (or 70 %) were later found to be eligible.

Doesn't that make it a great excuse for the US to reduce their military presence in West Asia, so that they can shift more of their military manpower to the IndoPac and increase their focus against China instead?
