Amazing. They've done it again, I don't know how they say stuff like that with a straight face.
Guy isn't even born in SG but India. Not that Chinese haven't been corrupt before but I really wonder how long of a future SG has as it gradually becomes less and less Chinese. Has the signs of a large tech company that goes down the gutter once Indian management takes over and puts in more and more if their own.
It seemed so good on paper.
There has been an unspoken policy that Singapore has to remain 70 percent majority Chinese during LKY era. Some sensitive posts are also unavailable to other races like Malays cannot be in certain top national defence jobs. Not sure how relevant these are now thoughGuy isn't even born in SG but India. I read somewhere that LKY knew that yes it is ideal that we pick the best person for the job and whatever race or skin colour they are shouldn't matter like good old meritocracy. But thats just sadly not the way the world works. We are human beings and tribal parts still exist in our genes. Thats why when it comes to democracy, you vote not for the policy but what group/race you belong to. Its a genetic conflict of interest that prevents you being truly objective. Its kinda amazing how he saw all this stuff decades ago when its only showing itself now. There has been an unspoken policy that Singapore has to remain 70 percent majority Chinese during LKY era. Its for this reason, I think more Asians esp Chinese are beginning to realise there is nothing to be gained with by discussion or debates with lets say western whites. No matter how many good points you bring up, they will say you're wrong and do any gymnastics to get to that conclusion. Simply because it is still a white run world and they don't want to see that change. No wonder in the past, when people wanted change in ancient china they didn't do this voting or compromise with the crappy emperor. They just overthrew him and salted his fields so he can't come back coz sadly real changes can only come with a big price. And you must be willing to pay a big price for it.
Singapore was literally born due to racism riots and identity politics. It's somewhat akin to Jews finding their own sanctuary in Israel, minus the religious, colonization, genocide context. Singapore is a safe space in SE Asia for ethnic Han Chinese, otherwise they have to go back to China or be marginalized second class citizen in Malaysia. There has been an unspoken policy that Singapore has to remain 70 percent majority Chinese during LKY era. No. It's not about being nice, the issue with the Malays is that they put their religion into consideration before anything else. Indians can govern within a secular framework, Malays can not.I have far fewer qualms about entrusting the Malays to helm the top posts than entrusting the Indians. I find the Malays, when educated sufficiently, are nice people.
That secular framework is hire Indians and only Indians no matter how incompetent they are.No. It's not about being nice, the issue with the Malays is that they put their religion into consideration before anything else. Indians can govern within a secular framework, Malays can not.
Yes and wait until Malays tell everyone that Islam is state religion and create their own version of a class system. That secular framework is hire Indians and only Indians no matter how incompetent they are.
