Bro sometimes in business having employed good Chinese employees is a detriment to one's health....lol I'm saying this as a private entrepreneur, here in the Philippines most Hua Qiao will never employ their owned kind or Mainland Chinese for fear of competition. Once they work for you and know the tricks of the trade, they will venture on their own and compete with you. It's the Chinese way, be the boss, their mantra is to owned and operate their business rather than work for somebody.

To be fair though, we Chinese folks would just as readily boycott business with a nation or entity who insults China, it's leadership, and it's people. So I understand the Indian POV for boycotting Maldives. Nevertheless, it's India and Modi that is being insulted, so I'm absolutely fine with that. They have been dishing out so much derogatory insults to China and the Chinese people that they fully deserved receiving some back themselves.
I hope to God that a day won't come when they miscalculate and accidentally start a nuclear annihilation due to their self inflicted tomfoolery.
