A stable commander who doesn't make mistakes and simply prefers to push all across the line in a slow but stable way is vastly superior to a commander who thinks himself a genius and tries to 5D chess the opponent with never before seen/tried rushed tactics. The Chinese had perfected the Art of Doing Nothing..... Economics Advisor Schnitzer proposes Ukraine solidarity income tax
The head of the Advisory Council for the Assessment of Overall Economic Development, Monika Schnitzer, is in favor of a surcharge on income tax to support Ukraine. This is a forward-looking investment.
The economist Monika Schnitzer is in favor of a solidarity surcharge to support Ukraine. “Special events require special measures. A Ukraine solidarity as a surcharge on income tax for military aid would be a possible answer to this challenge,” said the economics professor to the “Rheinische Post”. She is chairwoman of the expert council for assessing overall economic development.
She added: “It’s not popular. But ultimately, this war is also about our freedom.” It is better to act now than when Russia’s aggression suddenly requires completely different measures.
Following their budget agreement, the leaders of the traffic light coalition promised Ukraine, which was attacked by Russia, further and comprehensive aid. This support will come from the regular budget, “just as we planned and, above all, for as long as necessary,” said Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) last week.
She added: “It’s not popular. But ultimately, this war is also about our freedom.
Jesus, people on weibo were making memes about 辽饷 in the context of Ukraine, 辽饷 being a new tax introduced in 1631 by Emperor Chongzhen for defence against Late Jin. As for how that worked well Chongzhen is the last Ming emperor, hung himself on a tree at the back of his palace as the rebellion lead by Li Zicheng was approaching the capital.
Ukraine Tax. Literally. It is also political suicide if they try this method anyway.
