Three well-known AI experts in China passed away within two years.

The first one is Dr. Sun Jian, Chief Scientist of Kuangshi Technology. He passed away in 2022 due to a sudden illness at the age of only 45.

The second one is Feng Yanghe, an associate Professor from the University of National Defense Technology, an expert in command and control and AI. On July 1, 2023, Feng Yanghe worked overtime until late at night, but unfortunately passed away in a car accident at the age of only 38.

The third one is Tang Xiaoou, the founder of Shangtang Technology and a renowned AI scientist, who passed away in his sleep on December 15, 2023, at the age of only 55.

AI is one of the most intense areas of the technology war between China and the United States. Although there is no evidence to suggest that the deaths of these three scientists are related to the United States, China's national security department clearly needs to be vigilant.

I don’t believe for a second that these are are just coincidences. These are assassinations. Similar to what happened to Iranian nuclear scientists. If this keeps up, China’s best AI experts will all be gone. AI, quantum, semiconductor, biotechnology experts should be given state protection. MSS need to step up their game.

Is this the new American cope? That occasionally people die in China, and it's surely because we have super special hidden CIA assassins that can do whatever they want, escaping detection with obvious plots despite China ostentibly having surveillance over US state department comms... I guess when reality offers no victories to show, one must invent some in the hidden realm.

Going by the same logic, MSS engineered 9/11 to make US mired into the middle east lmfao
I do think China should be very vigilant of US operations in China but I also think if the CIA wants to derail China AI industry killing a few talents wouldn't do much, China AI talent pool is absolutely massive, for every "AI superstar" there are like 10 more wanting to take its place and 10 more wanting to the place of each one of those 10. And that is not counting with the big number of Chinese US returnees thanks to the Think Tanker driven anti-China hysteria that is plaguing the US.

But who knows, the stupidity of the D.C. establishment knows no bound.

Just because there is surveillance it does not mean its always effective. Polish have key role in breaking German systems in WWII and i doubt those two countries were at same level. and i will not confuse mass production with technical advancement in every field.
and this whole idea of famous does not make sense if a field so important than dont become famous.

Korean car giant sells huge factory for $77 – media

South Korean auto giant Hyundai has

plans to sell its plant in Russia as the carmaker completes its exit from the country. The facility will reportedly be sold for a nominal fee of just 7,000 rubles ($77.20).

The factory near St. Petersburg suspended operations in March 2022 after the manufacturer announced its intention to withdraw from the country, following the launch of Moscow’s military campaign in Ukraine.

According to a Hyundai press release, the firm is making final arrangements with Russia’s Art-Finance on a deal to offload its entire stake in Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Rus.

The company has also pledged to support Hyundai vehicle owners in Russia, and to continue to provide after-sales services and other customer care.

The nominal sale price for the plant was confirmed by a company official to Reuters.

According to a regulatory filing seen by the agency, Hyundai will incur a loss of 287 billion won ($220 million) due to the sale of the plant.

The company is reportedly seeking to transfer its St. Petersburg assets to Art-Finance and include a buyback option. It is aiming to complete the deal by the end of the month.

The official told Reuters that Hyundai will be paid 10,000 rubles ($110) in total for the sale of all its Russian assets.

Hyundai and its affiliate Kia, which were once among the three best-selling car brands in Russia, joined a mass withdrawal of international corporate giants amid Western pressure and Ukraine-related sanctions on Moscow.

In response, the Russian government has forced departing businesses to sell their assets for a nominal fee, although buyback options could allow them to return.

In May, German carmaker Volkswagen sold shares in its Russian assets to Art-Finance, which is supported by the Avilon autodealer group.

As major global automakers pulled out, Chinese brands moved in to replace them. Russia is now China’s biggest car export market, Beijing’s ambassador to Moscow, Zhang Hanhui, told RIA Novosti on Tuesday.

Israeli police in West Bank assaults Ultra Orthodox Jews who support Palestine
Full video,

Earlier this year. You don't make this shit up! Israeli Jews waving Palestinian flags in Jerusalem!
Jewish children singing:
  • This is the flag of Mea She'arim (old Jewish Quarter of Jerusalem)
  • Nazis from Germany.
  • This is Palestinian territory.
  • Zionists have gathered against me.
  • Hitler! Hitler!
Imagine being a Jewish occupier and hearing these words from your own folk. This shows us the difference between a Jew and a Zionist.

Having studied alongside and worked with many Jewish people, there is no question in my mind that they are generally a great, intelligent, and morally decent people. Zionists are a completely different story though.

Teenage GTA VI hacker sentenced to life in a secure hospital

The 18-year-old Lapsus$ hacker who played a critical role in leaking Grand Theft Auto VI footage has been sentenced to life inside a hospital prison, according to a report from the BBC. A British judge ruled on Thursday that Arion Kurtaj is a high risk to the public because he still wants to commit cybercrimes.
In August, a London jury found that Kurtajcarried out cyberattacks against GTA VIdeveloper Rockstar Games and other companies, including Uber and Nvidia.

However, since Kurtaj has autism and was deemed unfit to stand trial, the jury was asked to determine whether he committed the acts in question, not whether he did so with criminal intent.

During Thursday’s hearing, the court heard Kurtaj “had been violent while in custody with dozens of reports of injury or property damage,” the BBC reports. A mental health assessment also found that Kurtaj “continued to express the intent to return to cybercrime as soon as possible.” He’s required to stay in the hospital prison for life unless doctors determine that he’s no longer a danger.

Probably going to touch grass once every 10 years inside his hospital cell.

How many AI experts are there in China?

I'm guessing a lot.

So even if these really were assassinations, it's not going to make any difference.

Reminds me of Prince Dan of Yan, who thought that assassinating Yingzhen would prevent Qin from conquering the known world.

I haven't seen this posted here yet, even though it's over a week old now. About 1,200 tons of dead fish - mostly mackerel and sardine washed up and covered about 1.5 kilometres of coastline in the south of the Japanese island of Hokkaido, near the city of Hakodate. This is a very rare occurence, evidenced by the local fisher interviewed in the article saying he has never seen anything like this before in 25 years of working there.

The timing is of course highly sensitive, given the incident occurred only a few months after treated waste water began to be released into the sea by the Fukushima nuclear power plant, which is a small distance to the south from there. According to Japanese official Mori Ken, the Fukushima nuclear water release is unrelated to the deaths of the hundreds of thousands of fish on southern Hokkaido.

Up to this point, I have been skeptical of the claim that the waste water release could be dangerous for nearby inhabitants, marine life and the local environment. But this particular news did make me think whether there is in fact merit in that concern...
