The USSR had to go? How the hell could a marxist party be standing in the way of socialism? Insanity. The collapse of the USSR was a great crisis, and it killed millions and destroyed industry that was then shipped off.

From an American perspective he did a good job. If an American leader dismantle the country soviet union style it would be a boon to communism, but that wont make him a good American leader.
Also millions? That is rookie number sorry. How many did US kill in middle east? I know he is amoral but he is a good diplomat, and it is unfair for other Americans to be selectively applying double standard on him while ignoring the every other politicians.
