The West is full of liars and manipulators and the Chinese are guilty of letting them get away with it by their do nothing attitude. No one is recognizing China taking the high road as some Chinese proclaim. As usual Asians who are susceptible to valuing being the sycophant or the teacher's pet don't see how everyone hates them because they are only looking out for themselves and are willing to trade for a lesser position as long as they think they're better than everyone else. The people who brag about taking the high road are blinded by the fact it says everyone else is lower than them. And when it regards the West, there's a contradiction because these people expect to be respected by the West by lauding taking the high road while saying they do not.
The reason why is because Asians hold respecting authority as paramount. I believe in respecting authority... if they deserve it. But Asians respect authority to a fault. They're told to respect people as authorities for something like as simply as because they're older. Older people can be assholes and don't deserve that kind of respect. I know of a family where the two parents have mental problems. It probably happened because of an arranged marriage where their parents thought it was an appropriate arrangement. Well that couple had children together and when they got old enough, they rebelled against their parents' crazy paranoid values. The extended family came in to rectify the problem and who did they side with? They sided with the parents even though they were crazy. Why? Because the children have to obey their parents(the authority) no matter what. As years went by, I've seen some of those children and they ain't normal.
Some Asians believe there are no exceptions. And why do they believe that? Because Asians are big on creating a harmonious society. Sounds great but what does that really mean? A harmonious society basically means no complaining happens so that society works. That's impossible because there's someone that always has a gripe especially when resources are finite. Asian culture tells people to accept their fate and don't complain because having a harmonious society takes precedent. Some people can argue Hitler was a man of peace. Yeah if everyone just did what he wanted blindly and without complaints, that could be argued he was for creating a harmonious world.
A while ago there was a discussion in this thread over how "overseas" Chinese have problematic values and tend to be self-hating traitors because they're exposed to the West. I would argue they're acting very Chinese. Whether you like it or not by how Asians view what an authority is, the West is an authority. They built the richest and most powerful culture on the planet beating everyone else. Who ever taught Asians to blindly respect and revere authority, Lao Tzu, Confucius, whoever..., never saw anyone but someone that looked them being seen as the authority. Whoever it was... they're an authority and of course they didn't want anyone to question them so they put it out there respecting authority is paramount no matter what. That's why you see so many traitorous Chinese that will side with the West no matter how immoral their ascent to power came. People in power want people fighting for their respect even if it means fighting with each other. There's a basic selfishness involved and that's why Asians have no problem being a sycophant or teacher's pet even though by nature everyone else hates them. All they see is their position above everyone else even if they're not number one.
Even in Beijing there are those that see the West as the authority hence why being respected by the West is important to them. And that means to them don't get them angry by complaining. Hence why Beijing has done nothing when the West acts against China thinking that also works at getting their respect. Has it worked? So many Chinese so naive that they think the West will recognize and respect them by how the Chinese did nothing against their insults. How has China been rewarded? The worst relations since the darkest days of the Cold War. If only the West saw the kind of optimism the Chinese have for them. Because they don't, that should spell it out for the Chinese but no. It's because the Chinese hold out on their twisted sense of respecting authority will be rewarded.

Additionally, Malcolm X offered a cultural critique of Black Americans‘ conundrum/dilemma in which he observed that Black folks worshipping of a white god image affected a subconscious barrier to their challenging white-supremacy, both in thought, and, of course, in action.
