Why is Beijing not returning the favour and doing the same with Russia and Belarus? The foreign policy of Xi administration is not very satificatory in my opinion. Return the damn favour, fucking foreign policy inactive babyboomers.

Return the favor and turn it into another Cold War? Let them cooperate if they want to.

Japan is already a MNNA (major non-NATO ally) so this changes nothing...and Russia is already a comprehensive strategic partner and Sino-Russo relationship is "limitless" and "superior to Cold war era alliance", so China is quite happy.

How cute of you to assume that just because NATO and Japan announce something that it will come true, or that just because China and Russia doesn’t announce something that it isn’t happening.

  • DOJ's China Initiative "may have inadvertently led to" an accelerated departure of valuable researchers of Chinese descent from the U.S. to China
  • A study published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences suggests that while the trend of Chinese-descent scientists leaving the U.S. was increasing before 2018, it greatly accelerated after the launch of the China Initiative.
  • The study highlights concerns over loss of scientific talent for the United States

You're a big fan of loud people talking a lot, aren't you? How very suitable for Western politics. In China, we say, "The silent chicken eats the most rice." We don't like endless public meetings with announcements for fanfare, to give people something to react to (probably has something to do with the need to constantly win elections in the West). And then they silently cancel most of them or just let them rot without follow up. We do things to do things, for the results, not to rile people. Despite the nonstop chicken clucking of the Western henhouse against China and Russia, in the end Russia cannot be defeated in Ukraine and China's rise, in every category, is unstoppable. It reminds me of a tree full of howling shrieking monkeys as two Harpy Eagles silently circle above. This is the difference between silent predators and their panicking screaming prey.

But even beyond this comparison of predator and prey, I cannot emphasize enough the strength and beauty behind silence. There is a natural rivalry in North America through millions of years of evolution between the great horned owl and the bald eagle. The bald eagle is twice the wingspan, 3 times the mass, and has a 3 inch knife-like beak that the owl cannot match. But the owl, armed with slightly stronger talons, gets the better of the eagle the majority of times, because while the eagle has some advantage in one-on-one combat during the day, the owl dominates the night when eagles and their chicks are completely helpless against owls attacking in absolute silence due to their unique ability to fly without making sounds. As a matter of fact, great horned owls prefer to kill bald eagles for their nests rather than build their own! It is because of this stealthy adaptation that there are 300K bald eagles today with every effort from the US government to protect them, vs 6 million horned owls which have never been threatened.

Yang Moo-jin, a political-science professor at the University of North Korean Studies, said Wednesday’s launch was intended as a warning to the US for its reconnaissance flights, and the impending arrival of a nuclear submarine in the South.

“This move alarmingly raises the possibility of the North carrying out its threat to shoot down US spy planes” flying over its exclusive economic zone, although international laws grant other countries the freedom of navigation and overflights in the zone, Yang said.

At a summit in April 2023, South Korea and the US agreed to “further enhance the regular visibility of strategic assets to the Korean peninsula, as evidenced by the coming visit of a US nuclear ballistic missile submarine” to the South.

Yang said the submarine’s arrival was likely to take place around July 18, when the inaugural meeting of the US-South Korea “Consultative Group” to discuss “extended deterrence” against the North opens in Seoul.

Why not incorporate North Korea, Belarus, Iran, Russian Federation, Laos and Cambodia in a more robust allround security system? These are at the moment for us friendly countries. Should incorporate them in some sort of robust alliance. Not a weak summitry and should not let them struggle alone against the US led alliance system. At the end we are all prey for the USA like we were prey in good old European colonial times. But a robust political and economic security alliance would all make us somewhat safer from US led predation. The goal should be not to let friendly countries be an easy prey that they can easily regime change or destablize causing a progressively more hostile international environment for the PRC. The picture is already dire. Should at least look at methods to consolidate the friendly countries before looking what to do in the future.

No. That will be Cold War 2.0 and that's what the US wants. If you want to weaken the US you have to outmuscle it economically and end its financial empire. You have to take the slow and steady approach, build independence and self reliance in critical industry and entice the rest of the world via trade. Looking to divide the world into blocs will play into the west's hands.
