Vietnamese SCS stuff is for political theater and the government knows it, which is why China mostly bullies Philippines. It's ez pz to bully the Philippines (actually, justifiably striking back against their aggression) and make their sponsor look weak.

I wouldn't be too sad if Vietnam is allowed to keep a few islands for their loyalty once the hegemon and its puppets are kicked out.

I really dont think that China would be belligerent or haughty with Vietnam.

Actually, looking through the history of resolved dispute and current tendencies of Chinese negotiations… China is entirely reasonable. So I find it highly likely that post-US withdrawal, Vietnam and China are likely to come to an agreement that’s more or less fair.

Vietnam tends to punch far above its weight in the International Science Olympiads compared to India, which tends to underperform.
One of Vietnamese participant when you click on results already participated in 2020. he improved his score but this show he had aim to participate in this competition.
I think countries who routinely participate they have institutional knowledge or some business dedicated to improve student performance. Look at this Iranian how much improvement in just one year and this supposed to be isolated country.

I don't really understand why people focus on India so much when ASEAN exists. India, with 1.4 billion people, exported $420 billion of goods in 2022 whereas ASEAN, with less than half the population, exported $1.7 trillion of goods in 2021 (

). This figure includes intra-ASEAN trade, but that is only 21.3% of ASEAN's total trade. ASEAN is clearly beating India on all fronts.
India also export Software services of about $400b. and alot of Indian human capital is tied in running things in other countries.

While Biden is still waiting for a meeting with Xi, Russia's Mishustin has already held two meetings with the Chinese president. And another conspiracy theory has already been born.

Blinken is lying again:
How did he jump to the conclusion that Mishustin met Xi ->Distrust in Putin and he hated it?

Much logic

Lack of infrastructure is the major roadblock to any kinds of de-risking, de-coupling, de-whateverbuzzword.
Multinationals will invest in production, but they will not invest in roads/transportation, port facilities, or the power grid. These are too expensive and won't yield a positive return. Poorer countries will have trouble financing these large projects (heck, rich countries have trouble financing these projects...)

Furthermore, to stabilize the power grid, these countries will most likely seek out the cheapest and most reliable source of electricity which is traditional coal fired thermal power plant. This will be contrary to developed countries' stated goals of fighting climate change.
Vietnam is a small country and it would almost imposible that will able to absorb too much manufacturers at the same time, the will not be able to built infrastructure fast enough, prices will go up exponentially and it will create societal issues.
In short Vietnam could absorb some but not even to close to half of the manufacture of China and is not even in their best interest.

The fact that Iran is isolated has little to do with the intelligence of its people. According to this source,

, 8% of elite AI researchers are from India whereas 3% are from Iran. That is not bad for an isolated country with 1/16th of India's population.

A country's performance in an International Science Olympiad has more to do with the quality of its human capital than anything else.

In 2022, India exported $273 billion of services (

). In 2021, ASEAN exported $348 billion of services. Again, India is underperforming.

China needs to put up its own statement commemorating not only the victims of US' attempted coup in China, but make June 4 a day to remember all victims of America. Never let the world forget about the pedophile occupation soldiers in Afghanistan, and many more atrocities.

The martyred PLA fought foreign funded terrorists with bravery and traded 1 of their own for more than 10 of the enemy. China should not let that fact be forgotten.
