It certainly looks like US is preparing for war and is able to spread the cost of that war among an alliance. Again the theme here is America is the aggressor bringing war to Asia.

How can China escalate even further when it’s trying to act with restraint, and it’s economic reality limits how far it can escalate.

I'm not sure I agree with this. The vigil should remain.

We should all remember Tiananmen as the day color revolution failed in China and commemorate the brave PLA soldiers who sacrificed their lives to ensure China's future prosperity, stability and unity.

It’s actually an excellent wuwei taichi move against the CIA’s attempt to turn June 6th into an international day or mourning as propaganda against China. The CIA loves to use religious cults to destabilise rival regimes, having studied cults and psychotropics since the 60s and 70s.
What China is doing is what the Catholic Church did to pagan holidays like Yule and the birthday of sol invictus: appropriating and Sinocising these events into events that benefit Chinese cities and ppl. In this case, the carnival brings tourist money into the city and sidelines the idiot Tiananmen cultists as any other cult that you pass by in Taiwan or elsewhere.
