Its "voluntary".

It is voluntary in theory. This is how you retain the veneer of freedom.

Most people are totally oblivious to (or simply don't care enough) everyone's handheld telescreens constantly broadcasting and triangulating location data in a massive mesh network.

The Two-minutes hate sessions denouncing the CCP and their UYGHOUR GENOCIDE is enough to channel the population's energies properly.

That was taken from Philadelphia's most infamous drug addict area. Even the criminals know not to go there

It is the US wants to talk but at the same time imposing ever more sanctions and engaging more with Taiwan. US doesn't want to meet in the half way but wanting to sanction China more with each meeting. All of the demands for meeting are just an attempt to look like normalcy for the business and international community.

Has someone post this before? if not then interesting development guys. need an expert opinion

China (but also Armenia, Kazakhstan, and many others) vote "yes" to a UN General Assembly resolution (A77/L65) that terms Russian actions against Georgia and Ukraine as "aggression"..

Here is the resolution in question. "Russian aggression" is only included in the preamble. Operative clauses do not mention Russia at all. I don't think this means much.

On this resolution, "Russian aggression" was allegedly voted on. It says "Cooperation between the Unided Nations and the Council of Europe". Тhere was a vote specifically on preamble paragraph 9 (that mentions "russian aggression" against Ukraine), where the usual suspects abstained, including China, India, Mexico, Brazil, Armenia and Kazakhstan.

It is actually par of the course for most tech companies, though. Giving them food and other perks means they have more time (and loyalty, in theory) to work.

It makes sense for companies like Google, Microsoft etc, but what kind of tech was Twitter developing? They didn’t do anything new until Elon came around and started to push Twitter in the financial sector as the bare minimum. Tho it’s more then likely an exaggerated but Elon also said that there seem to be 10 managers for every developers at Twitter.

Exactly because of that, if you didn't have those perks, engineers would bail out to Google, Microsoft, etc.

It is kind of a self-reinforcing spiral.

Bloomberg: Air France Wants State Support to Compete With Chinese Carriers

Air France is pressing the French government to limit Chinese airlines’ access to the country, saying they enjoy an unfair advantage because they can fly over Russian airspace closed to many other carriers.

The French arm of Air France-KLM wants President Emmanual Macron to introduce taxes or other measures that would create a similar cost base between Air France and Chinese airlines, according to people familiar with the situation.

Opening up the door generously to Chinese airlines would give a boost to the country’s hotels and restaurants as China’s massive outbound tourism market recovers from strict Covid-19 travel curbs. But it also risks stumping the recovery of France’s flagship carrier, which used to operate 32 flights weekly to mainland China before the pandemic, said the people, asking not to be identified discussing private deliberations with the state.

“We support the ramp up of capacity between France and China but there needs to be a level playing field,” an Air France spokesman said. “Right now there is a distortion of competition which needs to be taken into account.”

The government is seeking a “progressive and balanced” return of connections to China, and members from several ministries plan to meet as soon as this week to discuss the topic, a government official said.

Air France is seeking to increase the number of flights to 14 a week in July pending Chinese government approval, up from the 6 weekly flights to China as of this month. Avoiding flights over Russia typically adds 2 to 3 hours to a flight back from China and requires additional crew, meaning extra fuel and staff costs per flight, according to Air France.
