Looks like a domestic terrorist act like the Oklahoma City bombing, considering the recent plot of kidnapping governor, it seems to be some kind of domestic discontent.

It's a good job China's got gun control.

From the BBC.

Seven killed in knife attack in China's Liaoning province

At least seven people have been killed by a knife-wielding attacker in north-eastern China, media reports say.

Another seven people were reported wounded in the mass stabbing, which took place in Kaiyuan, a small city in Liaoning province.

Police have arrested a suspect, the state-run Xinhua news agency reports, although a motive remains unclear.

Witnesses described seeing a man stabbing people seemingly at random.

Violent crime is relatively rare in China, but the country has seen unrelated knife attacks in recent years.

They have usually been carried out by people living with mental illness, or seeking revenge against officials or individuals known to them.

The suspect in Kaiyuan began attacking people at random just after 08:00 local time, Hong Kong's South China Morning Post (SCMP) newspaper reports.

Police said an officer was injured while confronting the suspect. No other details on casualties have been provided.

An eyewitness told the SCMP that the attack started outside a school and most victims appeared to be middle-aged or elderly women.

"It's lucky that school is off today. Otherwise there could have been more victims," said the eyewitness, a woman with the surname Liu

Where's the condemnation from the west? Where's the sanctions from the west?

Loujain al-Hathloul: Saudi woman activist jailed for five years 28 December 2020 Middle East

A prominent Saudi female activist, who campaigned for women's right to drive, has been sentenced to more than five years in prison.

Loujain al-Hathloul, 31, has already been in a maximum security prison for two and a half years.

She and other activists were detained in 2018 on charges including contacts with organisations hostile to Saudi Arabia.

International human rights groups have repeatedly called for her release.

But on Monday, the country's Specialised Criminal Court, which was set up to try terrorism cases, convicted her of various charges including trying to harm national security and advance a foreign agenda.

It sentenced her to five years and eight months in prison. Two years and ten months of the sentence are said to have been suspended.

She and her family have denied all charges. They have also said that she has been tortured in jail - accusations the court dismissed.

Isn't that old news. I though she was jailed a while ago.

Btw if i were you i would stay out of that mess.
West has habit of getting into people's bedroom to ensure "human rights".
Saudis are always like that. But BBC advertising woman for getting jail sentence due to internal culture is something i'll never allow.

China beat back covid-19 in 2020. Then it really flexed its muscles at home and abroad.

Well obviously WaPo twisted everything China did. But still, everything China did, I applaud. It was a tough year, but I'm celebrating all of China's successes with a massive smile on my face. Who cares what Westerners think? China is the greatest country in the world, no doubt about that. @ansy1968

No it's not old news. If you read it, it did say she was arrested and put in jail in 2018. This is news as the court has decided that she should get 5 years for fighting for women's tight to drive in Saudis.

As for the rest of your advise. I haven't got a clue what you are talking about. Sorry.

I read about it couple of months back as far as I can remember. No idea if something new added to that.

Saudis always consider their internal system part of their culture. No matter how oppressive it sounds.
BBC better focus on covid & post brexit rather than going into domestic issues of other countries to find excuse to "stand up".
Stand up for us first.

Ok I see. Well the news article was dated yesterday. So in that sense is news. And it went on to say she received her sentence on the 28th Dec 2020. So that must be news.

As for Britain minding her business. Well yes of course. But that wasn't the point I was making. I was pointing out the hypocrisy of Britain and US at dishing out sanctions left right and centre when it comes to China and Russia. But when it comes to their biggest arms customer, their hypocrisy showed through.
