TikTok in America is not some small outlet with a headcount of several hundred Chinese H1-B's reporting to Mainland HQ, it is a legit operation employing 8,000 people. And unlike Baidu, which only Chinese people use and would want to work for, TikTok is the most recognizable Chinese brand in America so the workforce is very diverse. So in Tom's eyes, everyone from a fresh out of college engineer who wanted the distinction of working for such a recognizable global brand, to somebody who simply spent a few months on contract maintaining the snack room, is committing treason.

I know the general wisdom is that its better for Republicans to win 2024, since they'll deal a deathblow to American soft power and democracy. And that may be so, but do understand that anyone with a yellow face in America will most definately start having to wear yellow stars on their arms.

I wouldn't be too worry about the yellow stars, the democrats will be back to "GOP are RACIST" and more general chaos will ensure in the US.
