Over reliance on outsiders is the original sin that caused this problem in the first place. Their data, CAD files, papers and code is already their embedded efforts spanning years. Having these people actually work in China would hold back development of native researchers. That's exactly what happened for Chinese gas cars, it took BYD and Geely breaking the model to change.

Nobody working in these fields is stupid, sometimes you just need a hint of an idea or a small bit of help, especially at this point in development.
we are all just joking. But if I take it seriously, these foreign engineers would be like the Ukrainians working in China in the 1990s and 2000s, not like the westerners working in JVs as the employee of western companies. They are Chinese assets. Experience is very important, more than papers, the key difference here is who owns the brain. At many times when Ericsson or Nokia laid off people, Huawei and ZTE had recruitment frenzies.

Same exact thing on 'advising' China to not send lethal aid.
It was China's (original) idea in the first place to not send lethal aid, but then US twisted it to strongly 'Demand' China on consequences of sending lethal aid, but US wants the appearance of being in control, while at same time smear China by trying to isolate it for even 'considering' that thought which it wasn't going to do anyway.

steal the show as usual.

The US media is propelling "Iran signed the deal with SA because Iran is deeply isolated". That is saying that it was US hyper pressure on Iran made the deal possible, even though China and Russia have Iran's back. US is left with a big mouth only.

I am sure that if Zelensky begin to negotiate with Russia, the US will immediately say "Russia forced to negotiate because of US".

Oh ok. Only superior to 95% of Biden think tankies then.
@siegecrossbow Btw, I wasn't trying to be a dick calling that out, but rather impressed by the claim and wanted to find out more about Hoover.

Found the below bit disappointing, but I guess that was the norm amongst Westerners back then...

He publicly warned that Chinese workers were inefficient and racially inferior.

There is no such thing as racial inferiority, only inferior governance.

This suggests to me that Taiwan's government fails to understand where it stands vis a vis the EU. Even if Taiwan disappears, Intel and Samsung will always sell chips to the EU. That will never change. In contrast, Taiwan is toast without diplomatic and military support from the West. There will definitely be decision makers in the EU government that will be offended by Taiwan's attitude here. Very bad move.
Who cares about the EU. The big boss here is the US. As long Uncle Sam gives the order, the EU will fall in line.

Taiwan for once knows what's going in the real world. From the Western world you can treat everyone however you like except one, Big Sam. That's it. As long as you are buddy buddy with the big boss the rest of the West is irrelevant

China resumed most of the normal visa services, including restoring the validity of visas issued before 2020 March 28th.

SDF members can get a Chinese visa now and hop on the plane before the internment camps open in the west.

SIPRI latest report is out. China ranks as 4th largest importer and 5th largest exporter.

What does China import from Ukraine and Russia?

Helicopters and Aircraft Engines.

Are they still able to export engines after the Ukraine conflict started? I thought those kinds of exports would have been curtailed for the war effort.

The vast majority of Chinese arms imports (83 per cent) came from Russia. Russian deliveries in the last three years of the period (2020–22) consisted almost entirely of helicopters and engines for aircraft,
