That's what i find so hilarious when australian commentators try to console their hysterical investors and readers that "d-d-don't worry, we'll be able to sell to other asian nations....and...and...and INDIA!! yes!! we can sell to fellow democratic India!!!"
Except that fellow democratic India aint got the market depth nor $$$ to replace Chinese money.
And given that China has eradicated poverty and are set on increasing their middle class...whilst India is set for recession and COVID and joblessness...

The American people choose Trump, it is the choice of history. Conflict accumulated over the years and eventually exploded like a volcano. There is no way to stop it.
Americans, British, French, German ... will not spend money on Australian coal and wine. They don't help Australia economically. What they help Australia is political and racial empathy. The conflict between China and Australia is increasing anti-China sentiment in Western countries. Australia and China are not in the same weight class. But damaging Australia economically is not a victory for China, in the short or long term.

You are correct if australia stays neutral and not actively trying to contain China, however australia went out of its way trying to undermine China, they have joined the quad an anti China alliance by definition and they went even further by signing a defence pact with japan allowing both countries to station troops in their territories, this is unprecendented, recently only the us who can station troops in japan
These are the actions of an enemy state, and the only way to defeat such an enemy short of war is to cripple it economically so that they cease to become a threat
One thing to note as well is that Australia has never been in a position where the opponent can and has the options to physically destroy the via nukes or hypersonic weaponry, both of with Australia doesn't have in its arsenal and it is quite unlikely that the USA will ever give them one. Hence Australia has provided China with ample reason for China to fight and destroy the nation should they continue to stupidly interfere in China's affairs. The only things stopping China from doing to Australia what the USA has done to countless nations in the middle east is China's restraint which of course if Australia dumb enough to really go to war with China is something that will given China the incentive can and will end the conflict in one blast, and the USA which given there track record in regards to its allies isn't someone people can count on in the future. In this situation, Australia is in a position that is going to be very dark since they obviously don't know when to stop acting high and mighty and no nation is going to bother protecting a dog that has become rabid and, without the USA is just one battle away from getting conquered like the Japanese did to China in WW2 which funny enough, if the USA is out of the picture, if China is so inclined and if they have no morals like the west seems to harp on, China can easily avenge themselves quite thoroughly given that Japan and Australia pick some really dumb decisions in regards to picking a fight with China

The photos of Australian soldiers brandishing the Nazi flag is also real. Same as the photos of them butchering children and strafing at farmers. Same with the Americans. It goes on. So yeah China's worst moment was still one where compassion reigned (tank man was unharmed) meanwhile those nazis actually murder and kill with sadistic pleasure and are very very triggered they are being called out for their double standards and evil ways. Somehow, I can't wait until the western world really does go down in flames, whether it be USA, Canada and the western part of Europe given the amount of things they have gotten away with is simply criminal.
