"India is also sending a strong political signal that it wants to remain attached to the West at a time when it has appeared ambiguous on Russian sanctions,” said Grabowski, a former banker with extensive experience in international deals."

This statement is besides the point.

In fact, it avoids it altogether.

The fact remains, America, does not trust India, and the reverse is true too.

Both are trying to get something from the other, make them the sucker.

:rolleyes::p

Move all the manufactering to India they said, its cheaper than China we were told, better to manufacture in a Democracy rather than an Authoritarian government our politicians kept saying! (Well, unless you're Vietnam)

Former Apple engineers told the Financial Times that Chinese ‌iPhone‌ suppliers and government officials have a "whatever it takes" approach to win ‌iPhone‌ orders, describing how work was often completed weeks ahead of schedule at "inexplicable speed." Operations in India, on the other hand, are not running at this pace. "There just isn't a sense of urgency," one Apple engineer remarked.
Yup. That is the difference between China and India.

When Apple goes to China and demands 'Apple Standards', the Chinese government and Chinese companies agree and cooperate. They learn that they were not up to standard, and they worked hard to achieve 'Apple Standards'.

When Apple goes to India and demands 'Apple Standards'. The Indian companies argue to Apple that they are the ones who set the standards instead. When Apple complains, the Indian companies cry to the Indian government. The Indian government then tells Apple that it is being too harsh on the Indian companies, and tells Apple to follow 'Indian Standards'. Because apparently 'Indian Standards' is world class, flawless, and must be 110% better than Chinese standards. Indian Standards will not change for Apple, it is sacred for India.

Apple could either lower itself to 'Indian Standards' and suffer the reputational loss, or continue to rely on Chinese-made component supplies into India to keep their standards up. Choosing the former would be unacceptable for Apple unless it gets a new Indian CEO. Choosing the latter would keep Apple's production cost in India higher than in China. So Apple (and Foxconn) is gonna learn the hard way why GM, Ford, Nissan, Carrefour, Lafarge, Docomo, and many other MNCs decided to evacuate India after spending some time there.

Well, it's not like there're other options other than Boeing and Airbus, is it?

And we all know India will never buy the C919 and CR929 anyway.

That Grabowski guy also said this:
“It is important for the industry because given the recent turbulence in the China market, the alternative growth market is India,” said independent aviation adviser Bertrand Grabowski.
Can't resist to have a dig at China can't he?

Well Grabowski, what about this news last year:

Airbus confirms the signature of orders with Air China, China Eastern, China Southern, and Shenzhen Airlines for a total of 292 A320 Family aircraft, demonstrating the positive recovery momentum and prosperous outlook for the Chinese aviation market. Once the relevant criteria are met, these orders will enter the backlog.

China's state buying agency CASC said it had signed a bulk agreement for 140 Airbus aircraft including 132 A320-family jets and eight A350 wide-body aircraft during Scholz's one-day visit.

China ordered a total of 432 planes in 2022 from Airbus, even before lifting Zero-Covid. So what was so 'turbulent' about the Chinese market?

My biggest black pills from 2020 onwards is that the majority of "experts", pundits, observers, etc are just spewing BS. Their statements wouldn't stand any test of time.
