Jeez a whole two days' drive to the airport?! After barely a week at the job pulling out a grand total of 3 people and one of them didn't even survive to boot? Can't even imagine the "extremely difficult" ordeal! The Taiwanese SAR team have my sympathies.
I wonder if they would be this motivated and hard working when fighting in AR...

Come now, we wouldn't want China wasting their valuable weather sats doing the EPA's job for them only to get mistaken for spy sats and getting shot down because of it.

Just get one of them commercial space firms like iSpace or Galactic Energy to send a dummy sat up, have it beam friggin' rainbows all over America and let the US go ham with their ASAT missiles. They'd get so coked up with the action they'd just as well take out a few of their own while they're at it.

Corporate Greed to the max. That company decided to bury the contaminated soil instead of removing it. Every lost day is less profit after all. Better to just leave East Palestine because Norfolk will probably resell the dirt as local fertilizer.

EPA says contaminated soil was covered to rebuild rail line

Ohio (WKBN) – The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency sent a letter to Norfolk Southern claiming it failed to properly dispose of contaminated soil after the train derailment in East Palestine.

According to the letter, “Five railcar tankers of vinyl chloride were intentionally breached; the vinyl chloride was diverted to an excavated trench and then burned off. Areas of contaminated soil and free liquids were observed and potentially covered and/or filled during reconstruction of the rail line including portions of the trench /burn pit that was used for the open burn off of vinyl chloride.”

“I think it was not in the best interest of human health and welfare and the environment to simply cover it up and keep going without at least a preliminary evaluation to determine if the level of vinyl chloride that was present in the soil was going to create a potential contamination threat to surface or groundwater,” said Dr. Julie Weatherington-Rice who has a Ph.D. in soil science and has been working for Bennett & Williams Environmental Consultants since 1986.

Understatement of the decade…

Bloomberg: We want to know whether Chinese diplomats and state media outlets are trying to distract public attention from the balloon incident by raising questions around US involvement in the Nord Stream pipeline blast as well as the chemical spill from the train derailment?

Wang Wenbin: The Nord Stream gas pipelines are vital transnational infrastructure. The explosions have had a serious impact on the global energy market and ecological environment. If Seymour Hersh, a well-known US investigative journalist, is telling the truth about US involvement in the explosions, what he revealed is clearly unacceptable and must be answered for. The US owes the world a responsible explanation.

We wonder why there is little coverage by some media hailed as free, professional and impartial on the latest investigative report on the bombing of the Nord Stream gas pipelines and the chemical leak caused by the train derailment in the US? Based on what we have seen, this is nothing new.

The lack of shame or self awareness is simply astounding.

The governor revealed he’d recently been told by the Ohio Public Utilities Commission (PUCO) that Ohio wasn’t alerted to the train’s presence before

Therefore, the railroad was not required to notify anyone here in Ohio about what was in the railcars coming through our state," DeWine said, calling that fact "absurd."

What is absurd is that it took you ten days to realize what the hell is going on governor. Are you fucking blind? Can you not see mushroom cloud the size of Mount St. Helen eruption over your fucking state?
