Yeah but facebook, snapchat, whatsapp never got banned

This is what telegram CEO says about whatsapp:

Hackers could have full access (!) to everything on the phones of WhatsApp users.

This was possible through a security issue disclosed by WhatsApp itself last week. All a hacker had to do to control your phone was send you a malicious video or start a video call with you on WhatsApp.

You are probably thinking "Yeah, but if I updated WhatsApp to the latest version, I am safe, right"?

Not really.

A WhatsApp security issue exactly like this one was discovered in 2018, then another in 2019 and yet another one in 2020 (tap each year's link to see the corresponding vulnerability). And yes, in 2017 before that. Prior to 2016, WhatsApp didn't have encryption at all.

Every year, we learn about some issue in WhatsApp that puts everything on their users' devices at risk. Which means it's almost certain that a new security flaw already exists there. Such issues are hardly incidental – they are planted backdoors. If one backdoor is discovered and has to be removed, another one is added (read the post "Why WhatsApp will never be secure" to understand why).

It doesn't matter if you are the richest person on earth – if you have WhatsApp installed on your phone, all your data from every app on your device is accessible, as Jeff Bezos found out in 2020. That's why I deleted WhatsApp from my devices years ago. Having it installed creates a door to get into your phone.

I'm not pushing people to switch to Telegram here. With 700M+ active users and 2M+ daily signups, Telegram doesn't need additional promotion. You can use any messaging app you like, but do stay away from WhatsApp – it has now been a surveillance tool for 13 years.
Forget about the security aspect of Telegram, the best thing about Telegram are the features it like what WhatsApp will be 5 years from now. Really don't understand why Europeans are still so hard to get of WhatsApp.

Potentially? Self-destruction mechanism failed?
Northcom chief Gen. VanHerck says the balloon was up to 200 ft tall, with a payload the size of a jetliner. It weighed "in excess of a couple thousand lbs" and potentially carried explosives " to detonate and destroy the balloon.
On the previous incidents of Chinese spy balloons overflying the US, Gen. VanHerck says: "We did not detect those threats and that’s a domain awareness gap." The intel community, after the fact, assessed those threats through "additional means of collection,"

Latin American countries such as Colombia and Venezuelan have already declared that this balloon doesn't pose a threat to them and they don't attempt to do anything about it. How is that a good PR when Latin American countries have no attempt to shoot it down but China offers to shoot it down and form a joint investigation. That is like trying to make a big deal out of nothing.

Because this event have become a global one so not just Colombia, Venezuela and China anymore. By working with these two countries China can show all countries and people of the world how these issues/misunderstand can be resolved peaceful and not through military means.

I think people need to realize that it doesn't matter what China does or doesn't do MSM would always twist the logic and demonize China no matter what.

That's simply China suck donkeys on PR. However, that doesn't mean China should stop trying or caring. China needs to do better.

China doesn't want world domination or interfere with other countries internal affair. However, China is a rising superpower. It should treat other countries with respect but doesn't need to bend forward to appease them. A balloon is a balloon. Any sane countries know that. For countries who try to score brownie points with the US to engage such level of stupidity then they are no friends of China.
That is why China should work with Colombia and Venezuela on this issue even if they declared the balloon is no threat. The messages their cooperation will be open and clear to all other nations and their citizens.

PR is important and that is why big global corporations and governments spend so much money and energy on it.

(ECNS) -- A 32-year-old Chinese skier was found dead in an avalanche in Tyrol, western Austria, on Friday, which was confirmed by the Chinese Embassy in Austria on Sunday.
At least eight people have been killed in the avalanches in the Austrian mountains this weekend, despite pleas from officials for caution on ski slopes, AFP reported.
The embassy reminds Chinese citizens living in and traveling to Austria to pay attention to the danger of outdoor mountain sports in winter. It urged Chinese citizens to make full preparations before the activities, including strengthening safety measures and abiding by security rules.

A 19-year-old patient has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease at a hospital in Beijing, a rare case of this disease mostly found in old people.
Jia Longfei, a physician in the neurology department at the Xuanwu Hospital under the Capital Medical University, said the patient began to develop symptoms associated with memory disorders at age 17, when he experienced difficulties remembering things that happened the day before.
The hospital carried out a variety of examinations on the patient, including a cerebrospinal fluid index test and a PET scan, which are among the world's most authoritative means for diagnosing Alzheimer's disease.
Images produced by the scans showed that the patient had mild hippocampal atrophy and abnormal cerebrospinal fluid indexes. A related paper on the clinical diagnosis of the patient has been published in the academic publication Journal of Alzheimer's Disease.
Jia said Alzheimer's disease is related to factors such as a patient's physical condition, genetics and lifestyle. In recent years, there has been a tendency for people to develop the disease at a younger age. Some patients with early-onset Alzheimer's disease have been found to have gene mutations. Progress in the capability of medical examination technology to detect the disease, has also enabled the diagnosis of more younger-aged patients.
