It's such similar predictive behaviour, i'm convinced there's something in the genetic memory of Indo-European homo sapiens that makes them gullible and susceptible to loquacious BS artists- maybe religious god kings had to use BS to keep order. It's actually very striking to the Galwan incident where indian media made stuff up to suit their paranoid narrative.

In the meantime, American neocons furiously cry that they are the king and no one better touch them.

Didn't read the article, but China challenging the US prematurely is an mistake IMO. I feel that the underlying said to Xi "Yes, we can produce good semi conductor chips in China" without telling him that they rely on all type of sanction-able components.

That fact that this balloon crossed Alaska tells you everything, if it was carrying something that the US didn't want in their territory they would have shut it down there, in the most monitored airspace since the cold war. But the MSM did a scandal out of the situation.
The response makes them look like unhinged paper tigers more fragile than the balloon.

A couple of thoughts on the balloon.

If it was a spy balloon, its mission was completed by the time it was shot down. Shooting it down was a pointless and unnecessary waste of money.

Also, if the US knew about this "gross violation of its sovereignty" on 28th January, why did Blinken wait until yesterday to cancel his trip to China?

Satellite communications gear: 2000 yuan.
High altitude balloon fabric: 35,000 yuan.
Steerable solar array: 5,500 yuan.

It was Kagan.

Once we see that name, then that was all we need to know.

Okay, I think I should say this too.

Kagan was one of those neo-conservatives, back in the day who were like Bolton, as in Bolton-like-crazy.

That pack of neo-cons, had an agenda, that was not widely accepted by the American political body or people. Essentially they were almost like the fringe.

Then 9/11 happened and all of the sudden the whole world changed and it was a neo-con dream come true.

The neo-cons were instrumental in driving the United States into those two wars, in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The neo-cons essentially discredited themselves with those two wars.

============ ==============

In my opinion, that all this war talk about the United States going to war with China, could be just a ploy to reestablish credibility by the neo-cons.

The neo-cons are not just Republicans, they are Democrats too.

When President Trump said, "All those stupid wars," what he is really saying is all you stupid neo-cons.

So I think one idea is that the neo-cons by demonizing China is trying to regain credibility as a voice to listen for the United States to handle China.

Sorry, but how is China not going to "challenge the US" when China's nominal and PPP economies are already 78-80% and 115-120% that of the US, respectively?

Even if China has no intention to challenge the US prematurely, the US is already feeling the heat eminating from China as early as the early-2000s. It was only the 9/11 attacks which granted China 20-years of free space to breathe and grow.

Please, they had THREE Stratotankers circling a weather balloon, the whole thing must have cost at least 2 million just in fuel and pilot and crew pay alone.

Looks like China is very pissed at US shooting down 流浪气球。

I'm not going to read some WSJ opinion writer's deranged rambling, but I will dismiss his asinine comparison with a simple question: What percentage of world GDP were Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan and what's China's percentage today?
Robert Kagan is a neocon and husband of Victoria Nulan
He is a co-founder of the neoconservative Project for the New American Century

Police Beg Locals to Refrain From Taking 'Pot Shots' at Chinese Spy Balloon

Maybe the gun and healthcare lobby paid China to launch the balloon?
Some Americans are getting dumb and dumber, and so do some of their MSM.

Spicy. Iran is certainly the weak link of the China-Russia-Iran anti-West axis
What is Bibi thinking? Is he really expecting much support from the West for his misadventure in Iran? The West can barely keep Ukraine fighting.

Our balloon vs their balloon:

Balloon vs military bases: who is threatening whom?

No doubt about it, the main purpose of U.S. MSM's brouhaha over the balloon drama is to whip up anti-China hatred even more.

I agree. I will not waste my time on it either. I would like to ask one more question: did Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan have nukes? By penning such a BS piece, Kagan exposed himself as a war-mongering lunatic.

Sad news, giant panda Le Le passed away in his sleep. He was 25 yo and was supposed to back to China in April.
