How else do you think American oligarchs can get their hands on those resources for cheap? Force the Chinese out at bargain bin prices then swoop in to load up on all those shares to take over ownership.
Canada is an American stooge and a "5-Eye" member, nuf said.

Sun Tzu once said: "In order to defeat your enemy, first you must know your enemy."

Seems like the West (or the Anglo-Saxon portion of it, at least) is hell-bent on doing the exact opposite.

Sun Tzu also said:
#1: If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles;
#2: If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat; and
#3: If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.

While China is working hard to progress from #2 towards #1 through expanding understanding and cooperation with everyone else as much as possible; the West is going in the opposite direction, i.e. from #2 towards #3 by gradually shutting out China and setting up their own version of the "Iron Curtain".
While Sun Tzu is rolling in his grave, there are quit a few British schools and Councils for China to hit back.

What I find remarkable, and gets me going, is that the Indians, even some of them on this board, who crow about how West can unite people and countries against China. That way China is always getting the short end of the stick because everyone is aligned against it.

Then when the Russia Ukraine war broke out, and the energy sanctions created some imbalances and deals, instead of aligning with the West, the Indians were first in line to buy the most Russia oil more than anyone else.

Then the next day, the Indians would crow again about how everyone is going to be aligned against China, under the good stead of American leadership.

At least they are sort of original in their act.

:D
India is not a modernized nation at all, it fails at the most basic aspect of a modern state: Nationalism.

Yes, you heard me right, Indians may project a nationalist facade outward, but projects an ultra-regionalist, exclusionary tone inward, the South made it part of their identity to not understand and integrate with the north, and everyone (regardless of political leanings) shits on the poorest provinces and openly hurl vile insults to people from those places, they are dismissed as hopeless and beyond helping(even tho they consist of one-fourth of India's population), infact it might be unlawful to forcefully help them from outside those states.

Nationalism or nation building isn't just being suspicious of foreigner, it is also about building a country that places national interest above regional ones(assuming the national agenda is actually good for the nation as a whole). The BJP is most successful thus far at forging a national identity, but it honestly fails at everything else and leans hard into tying religion into nationalism, which is a doomed path.

Calling it out properly. If the West care so much about Taiwan first they should reverse the betrayal they committed in the 1970s. Around 45 years ago they unilaterally severed all official connections to Taiwan and went as far as saying PRC was the only legitimate government of China. These visits by probably lobbied parliamentarians are negligible in comparison. Conducting foreign relations is unconstitutional for parliamentarians in many Western countries in the first place. Taiwan would be better served by putting those dollars into SAMs. Twitter likes don't give you independence.
