Wow. I'm reading comments by Americans to this Halloween disaster in South Korea... Which one is more pathetic? The Americans in taking pleasure at their own ally's misery or how much the South Koreans spend so much energy trying to get acceptance from Americans by trying to be like Americans.
Both are equally pathetic. The South Koreans who were trying to become America's favourite Asians. And the Americans who laugh and treat them as lesser-humans.
Before the South Koreans, many Japanese tried to get closer to the Americans. Yet too many Americans never respected the Japanese for that. They made many films portraying the Japanese as villians, or pathetic victims needing American white saviors. Japanese people in the US still get treated as yellow peril. Japanese people near US bases still get abused by US soldiers with no serious repercussions.
Except for Israel, America doesn't have any true allies. They are actually subjects of the American Empire to be played with. An ally should be trustworthy, and treated as equals. But no, the US must wiretap the phone of a German Chancellor, dismantle Alstom of France, and force Japan to sign the Plaza Accord. Yet there are still many South Koreans, and Hanjians who would still rather prostitute themselves to the American Empire than to live with dignity. It is a truly pathetic indeed.
