I don't know about if Wang Yi is that tough tbh but more importantly he has a longstanding decent relationship with the Japanese and seem open to concluding diplomacy with them.

This is a really important question during a time where US aggression on China's border seems more and more likely, the non complicity of Japan in an American war of aggression can save many Japanese lives and reduce the threat facing the PLA.
There is a wide misperception on Wang Yi in the MSM. Inside the system, Wang Yi is known to be tough when need be, although the perception is that he is soft. Yang Jiechi was deemed softer when he was the FA minister, but we already know how he performs in the last few years as the national security advisor to Xi.

In a larger context, from the 20th CPC lineup, that can be viewed as a quasi war cabinet. None of them is soft toward the Taiwan issue. I guess the alarm bell has been ringing in all those capitals who want to mess with the Taiwan issue. Count down is under way. Buckle your belt.

The funniest thing is that both Musk and Ellison are one of the biggest entrepreneurs involved with the US government, Larry Ellison literally had his first contract with the CIA, he was a technology consultant for Obama in addition to Musk himself, his Oracle systems are present in all levels and places in the DoD, was critical of Snowden and said that the US government should spy on everyone. Musk is the new guy who created the biggest rocket company in the US today and is the most important company for sending US military satellites into space and has vital contracts for NASA.

If this is true, which I don't believe, I will laugh a lot.

In general, I would classify diplomatic sovereignity and independence of countries into 3 categories.

In fact, I should say that USA, China and Russia are the only 3 countries in the world right now that have totally independent and sovereign diplomacy on the world stage. No other countries are at the same level of absolute diplomatic sovereignity as the trio.

The level underneath the USA-China-Russia WRT the following:

Absolutely on-point.

The next level below the trio would be countries that have at least significant amount of diplomatic sovereignty and independence. That means while they do have certain levels of autonomy (or resistance) to some foreign influences and forces on the diplomatic world stage, they are still bounded by other foreign influences and forces. These countries include Turkey, India and Indonesia.

And then, there are the many countries that can only follow the will and orders of their superior "masters" to the latter. I think I don't need to explain further, and you guys would have already know which countries belong to this category.
France, Iran should be there with Turkey, India and Indonesia.
