What a Wumao.
Well Paul Keating has always been one of Australia’s best so I wouldn’t look down on him in any way. Things wasn’t the same without him. I swear we need someone or someone to get rid of all those USA plants in Australia and things can change. I reckon one days things can change, at least compared to the EU, they is simply no chance there

This will not go like US thinks it will. China has avoided pressure tactics in order to keep its home sector innovative without government aid, but if US announces a broadly unfair playing ground, then it is the same as declaring economic war which means Beijing will create its own embargoes against US.

There is a reason why almost none of the premier semiconductor technologies are associated with America and why they're now trying to force companies to transfer to them, because excessive government control stymied their growth.

As even the state influenced NYtimes admit, 90% of their semiconductors come from TSMC and the rest from Samsung. Now, where does Biden and the dinguses he keeps as advisors think TSMC is located?

So on whose mercy is it that America gets any semiconductors at all? And who is it that Biden is now looking to antagonise?

Americans have dealt for a long time with Chinese civil sector, which are nice people, civilians who like to innovate new products. Communists are, according to Americans at least, generally not very nice. They steal, cheat and lie.

Americans think they're secure, with their whole supply chain from the minerals to the semiconductors made in China, using Dutch and German machines. They make an assumption that the Communist Party will not steal, cheat or lie. That is a dangerous presumption. Who is guaranteeing that communists will not cheat by nationalizing semiconductor supplies, will not steal by forcing Germans and Dutch to hand over trade secrets or get embargoed themselves, or lie and threaten others such as Korea to join an embargo?

If America pushes too hard, they will find themselves with semiconductors like the Germans found themselves with gas once the nord stream was blown up.
