Lovely seethe here both on QRT and comments.
As usual PoliSci grads seethe the most.
Few rules when evaluating Western democracies of 2022
1- The parties in power always prioritize votes.
2- It is common for parliaments to act like foreign affairs ministries.
3- Lower level politicians like city mayors and parliamentarians have no real power and are looking to advance their careers, thus they can do and say unhinged stuff. Remember, it is all about Twitter likes now.
4- The opposition's situation is the same with lower level officials of the ruling party. They don't have power and they are after popularity, which equals viral Tweets in today's European and American politics. They usually change significantly after winning elections.
So never take visits and statements seriously. Especially if they are from the opposition or lower level officials. Look at long term policies.
