This whole lawfare against Trump is just pure idiocy of the stupidest order.

Best case they can formally charge him and Trump drags the case out in the courts all the way to the 2024 elections and use it as proof that the democrats and deep state establishment is out to steal the election from him, again. That will guarantee him the republican ticket and saves him hundreds of millions in advertising since he will get almost unlimited free airtime due to the ongoing case as well as supercharge his base.

Worst case the charges fall apart and Trump gets all the benefits and none of the downsides.

Even if by some miracle they do actually convict him. It’s going to be a slap on the wrists sentence at best, and any conviction won’t stop him from trying to run for President again, even if, maybe especially if he can take the case all the way to the Supreme Court to overturn any constitutional limits on convicts running for President.

The nightmare scenario for the democrats is if they secure some meaninglessly light sentence against Trump with a tiny amount of jail time and he dies in jail. That will probably be enough to kick off civil war 2.0 right then and there.

True, the truth is that Americans are extremely docile group of people who are very easy to control - they are allowed mild forms of dissent for public play and virtue signalling but they get quickly put down if they try something serious. Americans never protest the latter, only vent frustrations online but are too scared to actually riot against the establishment. It is so easy for the government and their "free" media to control them while making them picture themselves as "free thinkers", it's pathetic.
