And like I have repeated many times, but you clearly aren't able to read.
We still can't know if it's actually real
Something which that 'expert' you quoted even wrote in his tweet:

And I repeat, can you actually read:

So those are all suddenly just voodoo claims?

Anyways, @Blitzo @SampanViking @siegecrossbow can we get a check on this guys IP address, to see if he's a former banned member? Seems like one, especially with all that cherry picking and Jai US.

PS. I would kinda say he deserves at least a warning for kind of derailing the chinese economics thread as well.

I think the proper way is just to hit the report button rather than calling in mods with @. I believe in the past , they said the people doing @mod might get ban themselve

TBH, I think a city not centered around cars is much more livable and bicycles as such use much less space when in road and parked in some shed.

I know for most of Chinese who grew up in the 70s and see the change under Deng think cars are progress, but the fundamental problem is, China has adopted America style mobility with cars, and we all know how good american style things are.

Glad that China moved to HSR, but non automobile mobility needs to get a push again.

Bro, I will start to stop showering immediately and the only liquid I will consume will be die coke.

Funny anecdote, my Unis HPC department has just finished their 2 PetaFLOPS Supercomputer but now they have struggles powering it because the cooling is limited due to heightend electricity prices.
But China also built subway in the majority of her town including 2nd Tier and even 3rd Tier cities. I lost count something like 70 cities and towns now have subway. Plus busses are plentiful and reliable. The high density of Chinese cities and towns make it economical to have public transit system!

He doesn’t have any economic background. He fell for the stuff that economically illiterate small business owners told him when he was mayor of Istanbul. IIRC, they told him that higher interest rates means they end up passing on the increase to consumers which drives inflation, and vice versa. It’s all BS, of course, but he’s stuck with that idea ever since.
NUTS!!

Go back some couple pages (I recommend clicking coolgod's name so you can actually go back).

So first all, we still can still not 100% assume it's actually true (the 750 kb of data could be forged, you might think it's too much effort/impossible to do, but not really, moreover if the person was able to scam someone selling it, he could have gotten 10 bitcoins, so like 200k dollars, that's just 1 buyer. With that said, not sure how things are on that website, and if scamming is common or not there).

Assuming it's true, it's only basic ID information for 1.4 billion people (still damning ofc) and case details for Shanghai.

As for 'hacking', well if you go back, the 'rumour' or how it happened is apparantly that someone used to work for the Shanghai police, and he did a presentation where his credentials (that could be used to login the database) got leaked.

This is still incredibly damning ofc, and besides being human error, it also shows a systemic error (so bad cybersecurity).

BUT HERE'S THE THING this doesn't represent cybersecurity for the whole of China.

Just like the rich areas of say Shanghai doesn't represent ALL of Shanghai (there's 'slum'/more poor/dirty areas as well) or like how the rustbelt and 'tent cities' in the various rich cities in the US doesn't represent those cities either.
Sleepy has been awakened lol

Ignoring sleepy 4.0's troll posts, even with the leaked credentials, someone had to have internal access. I'm betting it was some hanjian in Shanghai who ran to US or maybe CIA operative.
There are lots of Shanghainese that are Hanjians this is I am convinced. Based off on anecdotal experience from a story I posted here not too long ago I was taken aback how casual this female person was of China's historical claims and rights in Xinjiang, Tibet and how dismissive she was of the achievements made by the government (CPC) in China, calling them fake which drew a hughe laughter from me. Anyways, personal story aside, perhaps it's true that the more western cities become the more they developed western leaning thinkers, followers, and essentially saboteurs. Shanghai is going to be a problem now and will be for the time to come.

Lol so according to your logic the American “Journalist” reporting on China must be true but the American “journalist” reporting on America must be CIA puppet.
That's the genius of America. Jai Hind, Jai America. Logic are for fools, fantasy is for the true believers. That's why most of these fanatics are also strong believers in theism, and in the case of Americans, Christianity on steroids with a huge HYPOCRISY firmly stamped on their foreheads. Why do you think the Falun Gong nutjobs have found a haven in Xtian America?
