This reminds me of the late 90's and early 00's when there were a lot of people being smuggled out of China through shipping containers.
There is (was?) a certain forum member who was well known for sparring with Gatekeeper who had made a comment to me that "CCP's poverty alleviation was just a mirage", all fake. Really ticked me off by insinuating that a charity that friends of my family run was a joke because it's not dedicated to the destruction of the evil communist party.
Amazing how deeply buried his head is. He would cherry-pick all kinds of very specific statistics to support his argument (...weakness of correlation of PPP to literacy rate...). If it was such a mirage then you would obviously continue to see this kind of widespread practice. You cannot stop people from trying to gain a better life. This kind of tragedy is just so terrible, just a reminder of how important raising the livelihood of people is.

The ban was done in haste and likely prejudicial by select moderator.
Still do not get reason why the ban was harsh and swift for a minor infringment.

They keep announcing infrastructure plans since 2009! No progress so far with the exception of announcing a budget that doesn't exist and depends on private company participation.
Just my opinion, prob should give 12 months ban to senior members rather than perm ban. At that point, a member is unlikely trolling but just reading too much social media and suffering from some emotional outburst
