Given the current economic situation in the US, the Biden administration obviously views "being soft on China" is a lesser evil (for reelection's sake) than high inflation. And they can always add other sanctions etc under flimsy excuses to counter the "negative" image. So China needs to be prepared for it.

I myself do not think removing tariff on Chinese imports will make much of a dent on inflation. There are just too many other factors like supply chain disruption and high energy cost etc. But then, I am not an economist. What do I know.
