Ukraine has stated multiple times China can help end the war. If US doesn't use China to pass a message, who can they use? India?

China is the only power broker possible for some sort of endgame for Ukraine, I'm expecting Macron and Scholz to call Xi about this soon.
Zelensky should have closed his clown mouth about Taiwan if he wants China to broker peace.

The UK is jealous of the EU. They want their own EU as well lol.
Wow, the new supapowa block - the famous military powerhouses of Poland, Ukraine and Baltics. Is UK running low on money and could only afford these countries for their little diplomatic posturing?

Change "demands" to "begs" and we have a more realistic position when it comes to India.

Honestly I would expect Yang to give Sullivan a thrashing if he actually tries this crap. China is not America's messenger.

Sure, Xi could brief Putin on what went down in the Yang-Sullivan talk, but if the US has a message to pass along, then pass it to the Russians, directly.

It's not China's problem the US finds it shy/embarrassed/awkward to talk to Putin, nor is it China's responsibility to "clear the air" cause two dudes ain't talking to each other, especially at the same time one of these dudes keeps flipping your lunch trays and blowing spitballs at your face like a right a**hole, and now he expects you to mediate?!

Not to mention the blatant disrespect of diplomatic protocol. Where does Sullivan, a National Security Advisor i.e. glorified aide to the President's office, get off thinking he can deputise China's highest diplomatic officer to tell the leader of China what to say to the leader of Russia?!

The level of arrogance, I'm tellin' you.

Don't get riled up about this. Countries do that out of diplomatic courtesy all the time. There is nothing degrading or subservient about it.

Asking another country to pass a message is not the same as telling the country how to act. The country receiving the message fully understand it is from the originating country and not the position of the courier country.

The message can be written or verbal. If the message is verbal and insulting or threatening to the receiving country, the courier country can always reject it.

This is not much different from China's position on climate change. China long contends that developed countries have polluted the earth to the point of no return during their industrialization to achieve prosperity. So it is their responsibility to compensate the underdeveloped and developing countries if they cannot use the same means for industrialization and achieve economic well being.

India has been an ally of China in most of the previous global climate change conferences. In fact, India has taken over as one of the key champion of the cause in the past couple of global warming conferences, with China strongly supporting it.

So the UK left the EU which at least had rich and developed countries like France, Germany, Sweden and so on to join an economic block consisting of Lithuania, Poland and Latvia?

This has to be the dumbest move in modern geopolitical history. Now all Germany needs to do is expel these countries from the EU and it becomes a useful organisation again.

To be fair, he actually said nothing about Taiwan.

Global Times and the Foreign Minister trashed the Washington Post (Josh Rogin) as spreading false news as Zelensky's answer mentioned no place in particular.

Keeping in mind that Global Times usually publishes things like "..being pushed to the brink of war on Taiwan province", we can consider this a defense of him, lol.
