It's already tilted on US favor if you look what systems they can deploy rapidly. US military has it's own problems but they can drop air deployed naval mines, cruise missiles what can be carrier by most of their fighter jets (China doesn't have one), plenty of GPM's, more naval mines. If there is a conflict US will be deploying thousands of naval mines in the first few days.
I don't think America would get involved if Taiwan was invaded. There will be sanctions and people on twitter will change their pictures to Taiwanese flags for a while, but that's it.

There are good reasons not to invade Taiwan, but American intervention is not one.
EU have abandoned the idea of an oil and gas embargo for the time being.
Judging by some of the comments coming from European countries, I think they're still considering it. Anyway no matter what they decide, the Russians get a vote too.

Americans have done their homework and they've publically concluded that Russia cutting off oil and gas will be beneficial for Russia due to the increased oil and gas prices. It's something I believed would be the case, and all that remains is for Putin to do it.

China will continue to support the efforts of the Solomon Islands to maintain social stability, realize sustainable development and address traditional and non-traditional security issues, the Chinese Ambassador said at Friday's handover of facilities for Honiara to host the 2023 Pacific Games.

Solomon Islands Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare said at the ceremony that the relations between China and the Solomon Islands have deepened since the establishment of the diplomatic ties in 2019, and facts prove that the Solomon Islands was on the right side of history in its decision to establish diplomatic ties with China.

China handed over a training track and football field site of the 2023 Pacific Games stadium project to the Solomon Islands on Friday. Chinese ambassador to the Solomon Islands Li Ming said that China-aided training track, the Solomon Islands' first international standard modern track, has finished construction and was handed over to the local government and people, which will play important roles in regular training and participating in various games.

Li said the two countries conducted fruitful cooperation in a wide range of areas including healthcare, police and law enforcement and trade, and the deepening of bilateral ties has brought tangible benefits to the people of the two countries.

Sogavare said Friday's handover ceremony marked another milestone in the country's preparations for the 2023 Pacific Games. Sogavare thanked the Chinese government and people for supporting the Games and providing valuable assistance in COVID-19 prevention and control and the Solomon Islands' national development.

The handover of sports facilities was held amid growing disinformation spread by the US and its allies accusing the normal security cooperation between China and the Solomon Islands for lacking transparency and undermining regional peace.

Both China and the Solomon Islands confirmed that the two countries officially signed the inter-governmental framework agreement on security cooperation recently. And China has stressed that the security cooperation is open, transparent and inclusive, and does not target any third party.

The local newspapers recently published Ambassador Li's articles, in which Li reiterated China's position on the security agreement with the Solomon Islands.

"There is no hidden motive, no geopolitical agenda as some people wrongly claimed. China will never infringe on the sovereignty and internal politics of Solomon Islands," Li said in the article.

He said the bilateral relations cannot be narrowly defined through biased lens of internal politics or geopolitics.

He said he hopes people of the Solomon Islands will not be misled by rumors and inflammatory remarks, adding that the destiny of the Solomon Islands lies in the hands of its people.

Captain
but what happened if the Russia don't want to sell it in USD or EU, but with Ruble or Yuan or gold ?
I believe the current gas /petrol being supplied is under contract and use Gazprom bank to exchange Euro for Roubles. When the contract is ended, the customer is then free to purchase gas/oil on short term contracts or spot markets paying with roubles purchased by themselves on the open market.

Some thoughts

I wonder when all this has settled, Ursula, Borell, Scholz, B J will still have their respective positions.
Some people think Ursula, who is a real Russia hater would like to see Russia declared bankrupt when the interest on the bonds is not paid.
To work around the bank sanctions, why can't China pay the interest with her own U.S. dollars with Russia quietly reimbursing China with gas or oil supplies. Russia could also reimburse China with those useless US dollars or Euros Russia has accumulated.?

Meanwhile I think China should ask PNG/ on whether they would consider a similar arrangement like the one that was made with the Solomons.

Macron's fury over Boris Johnson's talks in Kyiv: French president 'ranted to advisers' over PM's 'capacity to put himself front and centre' as trip ruined his own plans for a secret visit

  • French president reportedly fumed when he saw Boris Johnson's secret Kyiv trip
  • The British PM 'cut the grass from under his feet', one French newspaper noticed
  • Macron ranted: 'He hasn't actually done very much since the start of this'
  • Johnson won plaudits for his secret visit to the war-torn Ukrainian capital

Mr Macron had been working on travelling to Kyiv to pose as the EU’s de facto leader and bolster support in the tight national elections. But Mr Johnson ‘cut the grass from under his feet’, French satirical newspaper Le Canard Enchaine said.

Mr Macron is said to have ranted to his advisers: ‘It’s so annoying to see Johnson still has this capacity to put himself front and centre when he hasn’t actually done very much since the start of this. 'Johnson just “does Johnson” – it’s populism. ‘He keeps repeating “Putin must fail” but there’s nothing behind the words.’

Scott Morrison says China building a military base on Solomon Islands would be the "red line" for Australia and the United States, but did not say how Australia would respond if it happened.
"Working together with our partners in New Zealand and of course the United States, I share the same red line that the United States has when it comes to these issues.

"We won't be having Chinese military naval bases in our region on our doorstep."

The problem here is they still try to picture China's long term strategic planning on what they would do. In their mind if you sign a security agreement with a country it's because you want to build a military base.

But a PLAN base in Solomon Island doesn't make much sense at this time. While power projection capability of PLAAF and PLAN have greatly improved Solomon Islands all the way in south pacific seems a bit far for a secure base.

China's game plan here is the old silver bullet > lead bullet, winning without fighting thing. Prove to the other island nations that if you ditch ROC and sign up with PRC you will get plenty of economic development. Then they will one by one jump onboard similar arrangements and you end up with a string of China friendly nations all the way to South America, then once it spreads there as well it will be even harder to isolate China.

German DIHK Martin Wansleben long interview with summary.

The Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce positions itself against a gas and oil embargo against Russia. Despite the war against Ukraine, an energy boycott is not justifiable, said DIHK general manager Martin Wansleben on Dlf. Everything must now be done to overcome the dependency.
The DIHK general manager was skeptical about future economic relations with China: According to Wansleben, the Chinese pandemic policy means that no steady, reliable development can be expected in China in the near future. Many German companies have problems finding employees in view of the strict corona policy. In addition, there would be enormous difficulties in the supply chains. According to Wansleben, a decoupling process between Europe and China is already taking place.
