Ironically, the more the Australians do to try to dissuade the Solomon Islanders against this security pact, the more they end up justifying it and the more likely will that the Solomon Island would call upon China’s military support. What better safeguard against a foreign sponsored coup or invasion than a PLA garrison on the islands?

Ukraine will be paying the IMF, WB, Western, etc loans for the next couple or several centuries lol.

Ukraine is also considering issuing 0% coupon bonds to bridge the fiscal gap, as the country is currently facing an estimated $7 billion deficit a month, according to Oleg Ustenko, the top economic adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Even during World Wars, they still gave out interest rates for war bonds. Ukraine offering a competitive rate of 0%. I am surprised it isn’t a negative percentage.

Ukrainians won't be paying anyone back. This is effectively free money.

$5 billion a month is $60 billion a year. An insane amount considering it is on top of military aid - a lot of which Ukraine is just selling on for profit.

If the west wanted to they could have really improved the quality of life of a country somewhere in Africa, building schools, hospitals and other infrastructure. Instead they are giving it to a bunch of nazi Ukrainians who will use it to get high on meth and kill civilians.

I don't think the Australians would invade, they'll just rig the political system to organise a coup like America did in Pakistan.
