China at the moment is still shielded from major food price inflation.

Just ordered a marinated whole chicken for 10 yuan from Pinduoduo. Picking it up tomorrow from the liquor store downstairs. Something similar would have costed me at least $2.99/pound at Aldi when I left U.S. about half a year ago. There are also some oranges and pears for about 3 yuan / 500g in the same order.

Also got some really nice pork belly for 13 yuan / 500g at local supermarket last week. Would have to spend $4.99 - $5.99 a pound at Chinese grocery when I was in the U.S., and for that I had to endure Epoch Times handouts at the checkout.

Oh, if I'm too lazy to cook I can have 2 x Kung Pao chicken + veggie + rice for about 25 yuan delivered to my door and freeze one for later.
When I first stayed in China for college, one of the things I noticed is how everything seems equally as cheap and for some some products are cheaper than I can get here in PH.

The only thing I missed while I was there was the variety of powdered fruit and iced tea mix. Now that I'm back here, I miss buying those 1.5 liter of sweetened tea, I used to buy often on my way back to my dorm.

I got admit, I actually like Americans. The people are mostly nice.

America itself, could use some improvement. It is really fucked up in some places and things.

Probably too late. LOL.

:D
Sometimes they're nice but I don't credit them with anything. Other than that most racists are only closet/online racists, it's easy to be nice and likeable when your life is easy cus your country robbed everyone else of thier resources to give to you. I wanna see how nice and pleasant they are when they work in a rice field 15 hours a day to support multiple members of their family who are maimed and need to take cover from Napalm whenever they hear engines buzzing overhead. Now if they're still nice and pleasant, then I'd be impressed.

"Just IN: Pakistani govt to declassify the US diplomatic cable before the parliament tomorrow, ahead of no confidence motion. - Pakistani media."
Even if this doesn't succeed, I think IK is going to use this to rally more votes and support, and reinforce the narrative that US is meddling in their election. Hopefully everything will turn out alright.

Russia's Kuril Islands investment promotion draws investors from India, China, among other countries: report

By Global Times Published: Apr 08, 2022 03:12 PM

Representatives from India, China, Turkey and the UAE were among dozens of companies and organizations attending an investment event attracting foreign investors to the Kuril Islands in Russia's Far East, Russian news outlet aif.ru reported on Friday.

Representatives from 25 Russian companies, 10 international companies and countries, and representatives of seven international business associations attended a Thursday event on the investment potential in the Kuril Islands in Moscow. The Russian government offered preferential tax policies to foreign investors in the Kuril Islands in March, exempting businesses 20 years' income taxes and other taxes and offered access to a free customs zone.

It is reported that representatives from India, China, Turkey, the UAE and diplomats from Bahrain, Thailand, Kazakhstan, Malaysia and China were present at the conference.

The Kuril Islands sit on vast oil and gas reserves and are located nearby important world shipping routes.

In recent years, the Russian government has been stepping up promotions for investment opportunities in the Kuril Islands in the Sakhalin region.

The event took place as Western companies and investors are pulling out of the Russian market amid the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

A former Russian official in the Far East told the Global Times on Friday that attracting investment bears more weight than developing trade in the region.

Attracting capital and technology from friendly countries to nurture local industries and setting up joint ventures to work on projects that meet the traits of local conditions would best suit the development of the area, the former official said, wishing to remain anonymous.

Typical areas for cooperation include developing nuclear power station, real estate, vegetable farms, aquaculture and tourism, the person said.

The former Russian official, now a businessman, said there is no way Japan can participate in these issues, whether it be through investment or territorial discussions.

In March, Russia declared Japan an "unfriendly" nation and said it would withdraw from peace treaty talks with Tokyo.

Imran Khan just gave an address to the nation.

In summary he said that he will accept the SC ruling, but he will not accept the treasonous crooks in power.

His strategy now is simple: Mobilize the population and win an overwhelming victory in the next elections.

I agree with the approach: Recalculate and mount another offensive, which has to be decisive.

BTW @ZeEa5KPul, the Army's rank and file loves Imran and PTI. No other civilian PM has ever achieved this level of respect by the soldiers. But they need the people to step up and support him, and also, IK needs to do a better job at management. If this unity is achieved under the right principles, then we can 100% face US pressure, iA.

So don't worry, as IK said: "Ghabrana Nahi Hai" (No Fear)
