They always had that plan in mind for a long time, but Its not going to work. They tried creating an Asian NATO before and it failed, what makes them think slapping a NATO label on it is going to make it work for the second try?
Also why are they calling it Asia-Pacific? I thought they like calling it "Indo-Pacific" lol
Edit: Also majority of the countries in Asia-Pacific didn't condemn Russia's operation in Ukraine either, so what kind of excuse is that.
I used to follow the so called Panda Huggers before, of which Rudd was one of them. I thought they'd provide a more balanced view. I wasn't too concerned about their language skills as long as they provided reasonable views and arguments. Then over the past 4 or 5 years, they've gradually turned into China Hawks. Now I can barely stand listening to them.
I've turned more to the few sane voices left in Taiwanese media. It is of course "soft-censored," with those not towing the DPP line heavily attacked. But if you know where to look, you can find analyses that are quite objective. Unfortunately, you need to understand Chinese to watch these programs.
There is one program on youtube I know that is subtitled. You can use youtube's feature to translate the chinese subtitle into english. It won't be perfect, but you can probably get the gist of it. Here is an example, if you're interested:

Yeah, this is precisely why China will back Russia fully in Ukraine, whatever it takes.
If Europe cannot act in its own best interest and is instead determined to act as willing accomplice to American desires to contain and destroy China, then how can they expect China to pass up such a golden opportunity to eliminate Europe as a world power by helping it to nuke its own economies?
