Contrary to popular belief, China's primary economic competitor is not the US, its the EU actually. US sits further up the value chain so it still has time, however for the EU, China's economic growth directly threatens their industries
I am lost as to the rationale by the Singapore leaders to choose this timing to expose herself as being firmly rooting for the US side in the grand geopolitical struggle same. Sanctioning Russia, calling for US military presence in Asia, trying to pull US back into CTTP all while trying to leech off China for further economic growth.

We should cut a deal with Indonesia, Malaysia and split it up if it doesn't learn to do business the correct way. We don't want American chihuahuas in our neighborhood
American navy and airforce are in Changi, it's not going to end peacefully, you can't just split that way.
