Taiwan has reported no unusual military movements by China since the war began, but has stepped up its alert level.

"But there are those using this opportunity to manipulate the so-called (topic) of 'today's Ukraine, tomorrow's Taiwan', trying to inappropriately link Ukraine's situation with Taiwan's, disturbing people's morale. This is inadvisable."

President Tsai Ing-wen and Premier Su Tseng-chang have repeatedly stressed government departments should step up efforts to combat "external forces using the Ukraine-Russia conflict to carry out cognitive warfare against us", Lo added.

This Taiwan denouncing "Today Ukraine, tomorrow Taiwan" is good. That could've been a rallying cry for the west unilaterally escalating things in the Taiwan Strait, but it looks like Taiwan is not ready to change the Status Quo.

How is it that Taiwan is the adult in the relationship with the United States?

Americans, I swear...

There was the time US State Department tweeted a Taiwan flag as part of a list of "Countries the US has donated vaccines to"
And the Taiwan ministry basically said "Please correct it, we are not a country"
Which is normally very unlike them, but I think even they are aware there is a clear line, not some moving Russian goalpost.

Ironic I saw on CNN yesterday how they were accusing Russia of manipulating images to perpetuate the Russian narrative. Remember the riots in Tibet right before the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics? CNN had an image of a Chinese APC (CNN called it a tank) driving down the street and showed only a few rioters on the street throwing rocks at it to say China was using overpowering force to handle a small riot. But when you saw the uncropped by CNN version of the picture, it was a giant crowd of people lining the street throwing rocks not just a few. There was that website that was created I think was called CNNSucks dedicated to pointing out the lies told by CNN reporting that actually got CNN to comment on it. Today they're back to thinking CNN tells the honest truth.

I see this as an attempt to separate the close relationship between China and Russia. Both of them shouldn't fall into such western trap. One thing is China's attitude always look ambiguous when it comes to international conflict. I don't know, maybe China should stand firm with Russia and tell the West, if they wanna fight, just do it!
If China bends to any demands then the Neocons will see it as a signal to push for independence of Taiwan by using the Ukraine crisis as an excuse. Ely Crapner wants China dead.
