That’s the Ranger School tab. It’s given to everyone who went through Ranger School. An actual US Army Ranger has both the tab and the scroll:

Regardless, assuming he didn’t get high off his basement meth and actually was a soldier, or even a Ranger, he’s an idiot if he thinks his experience in COIN will transfer over to a CONVENTIONAL conflict in the making. Fighting a bunch of starved farmers with rusty AK’s is completely different from fighting a real competent military.
