Look at the American people and tell me you see the raw material for a super power. Disinterested in learning or work, the only thing "super" is the growing size of the American waistline.

And then to top it off, they all (even the 60% who don't work) think that they deserve even more than they have and that somehow somebody is robbing them of what's rightfully theirs.

Doesn't really matter, global energy has peaked, and fast breeders, fusion, are certainty no guarantee to save humanity in the long run, and almost certainty won't be scaled up for the rescue (limits to growth) in the short run (next 10 to 30 years)

There is an almost 1 to 1 correlation of energy usage per capita to GDP/real wages... and purchasing power...

The world is now an ever shrinking Negative Sum game... (less than zero sum)

So as long as US can continue to leverage its military to enforce its dollar and coerce vassals to be its proxy and do its bidding... it can hold out while the world as a whole continues to contract... what the US is doing now in the era of eternal contraction is basically cannibalizing its own vassals in order to prop up the eCONomy

Some members on here keep saying that China has 4x the US population and therefore when fully developed should be 4X the GDP of US... they don't realize the US only has its GDP because it essentially colonized the entire world.... (petrodollar rent system) there aren't another 4 more fresh planet earths worth of energy and resources for China to have the room to grow to 4X that of the GDP of US...

And no, solar panels are not going to save the day

There are loads of them. You can search for them if you want. Its not that strange either, one side is much richer than the other. It is obvious what side people will choose
thats the statistics i want to see. EU has shortage of Truck drivers and salaries are increasing. does not seem it is attracting right people.
Infact Russia is building big access control highway that can enable unlimited travel between Asia and Europe. they are not afraid of truck driver competition. German utility bills are now 6 times Russia. and very regressive tax regimes. Elon Musk will lose his shirt if he try to run Tesla Berlin long term. that assuming all the inputs are at reasonable prices.

True. Russia will act as Germany' energy supplier for transitioning to a green economy. This is going to last for 20 years max. Plenty of time for Russia to push for more concessions by the EU. However in the long term EU will wean off Russia's gas.
you didnot click that German language link from German business committee. they dont have 20 years considering the demographic structure of population.
here is another German country. they are shivering from price increases.

This is why Germany is taking a softer approach towards Russia.

In fact US aggressiveness towards Russia also conveniently targets German industry..
US relies on German industry so i am not sure why it will target it. Look at oil / gas industry than MTU that key supplier to GE and PW. world is so relied on German engineering if it collapses than forget about any energy exports from Middleast and africa. even Chinese oil/gas investments in Iraq will collapse when siemens out from Irak electric system. no one can scale and deal with that extreme heat reliably.

If that's true then real Chinese GDP per capita should be at least European levels, and higher than UK, Spain, Italy, etc.

That chart is only electric power generation, not total energy consumption and thus not the whole picture

Also China being the world's factory and largest global exporter a lot of that went into producing stuff for countries like the US in exchange for trade surplus (basically IOU that will never get paid back)

This is why the BRI , climbing the tech value chain, and Dual Circulation is so important for China... to get out of this 'low margin' business and start conserving more efficient for itself...

Quick question, why did Russia accept NATO presence in Baltic-states next to Kaliningrad and directly bordering Russian land , but Ukraine is too far? Or was Russia too weak to push back against Baltic-states in 2004, but now is strong enough to assert on Ukraine?
Besides what @Overbom has said in #29,480 about the practical reasons, there is a culture sense in it. Modern day Russia is an offspring of Kievan Rus from modern day Ukraine, as Putin put it "the two are the same people". The Baltic people are far from that closeness. If we put it in the Chinese perspective, Ukraine is like Shaanxi the birth place of China, the Baltic region is like outer Mongolia only incorporated by much later Yuan and Qing dynasties. Although I may be willing to let go outer Mongolia when I could not hold it, it is impossible for me to give up Shaanxi even if I am living in other part of China. I would put a fight to the end to prevent that from happening. Russia is just doing the same. Of course emotion and culture does not determine the outcome, it does has great impact on decisions. Another good example is Jerusalem.

Of course the mainstream Media doesn’t report it. Because it goes against their narrative aka the left bias of corporate media who is the loudest of the bunch.

The Department of Justice’s violent crime statistics show that Asian victims are assaulted more by black perpetrators than by any other group, even before the pandemic. This disparity has been evident in the city in recent months:

Granted the difference between white on asians and black on asians is only ~3.5% difference. Like 27.5% (black) vs 24.1% (white) on official stats.

Anyone of Asian descent and appearance in the US who isn’t arming up and getting conceal carry permits and investing decent money and time in firearms and training is being foolish.

Anyone of Asian descent and appearance in the US who hasn’t got their head on a swivel keeping close attention to their surroundings while out in public, especially at night, is begging to be the next victim.

If you are not ready, willing and able to spot danger, draw and mag dump on any scumbag who wants to do you harm, you best be actively looking to leave the US ASAP. Even if you are, you should still be looking to leave.

Anyone of Asian descent and appearance who isn’t actively looking to leave the US is in denial and playing with fire at this point.
