Okay, this is why that American strategy is not going to work, of maintaining a web off allies to check China.

One fact alone blows that containment theory out of the water. China is the world's biggest manufacturer. China manufacture all types of products from high tech to low tech, even paper fans and back scratchers.

Chinese manufacturing has the size that is bigger than America, Germany, Japan, combined. That is combined. Then add in the obvious fact, that China's economy will double in 15-20 years, which means Chinese manufacturing could be double the size of manufacturing in America, Germany, Japan, combined.

Then add in the other fact that Germany and Japan, they have China as their biggest trading partner, that would suggests that if they contain China, they would actually contain themselves? It would.

Look what happen this week for Christmas? China tells the German companies cut your ties with that Lex Luther country otherwise we may have to find other suppliers. America put Lithuania to get closer to Taiwan. Germany on this issue sided with Germany, not Lithuania.

The best strategy for the US to do is obvious.

That strategy is out in the open, because virtually everyone in Asia is using it.

Everyone in Asia gets as close as they can to China, without being on its side. No one is really on China's side, but everyone signed as fast as they could for the RCEP, except India. That is why India will always be India. At least Stillwell got that right in the video.

Isn't this keep your friends close, but your enemies closer, straight out of The Prince? That is the problem with the Americans, they have no use for anything, like history, facts, classical Western thought too. America now is 1984, every freakin' year!

You see, if China is rising, and you get close to China, then you rise with it. And being right beside it, well maybe CIA has a better chance to undermine it. Now, there is no chance at all. CIA shut out.

That video, gwad dayum! The Americans, some of them bet the house on Comrade Chang!

:p:oops:

Very good analysis of "Everyone in Asia gets as close as they can to China, without being on its side" .. NZ is one of them, which is vert smart thing to do. Australia under scomo is so stupid by keep attacking/undermining China and China is the one who feed them by importing the most Aussies products

U.S. officials are considering tough export control measures to disrupt Russia's economy should Russian President Vladmir Putin invade Ukraine, a Biden administration official told Reuters.

The measures, to be discussed in a meeting of senior officials on Tuesday, would be in addition to economic sanctions the Biden administration is contemplating should Russia invade, after massing tens of thousands of troops along the Ukrainian border.

U.S. President Joe Biden has

devastating actions against Russia, to try to warn Putin off any possible military incursion. Putin has denied that Russia plans an invasion.

Measures to be discussed at the White House meeting include "extraordinary" export control measures that could choke off broad swaths of industrial and consumer technologies to Russia, said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity.

The measures being discussed could halt Russia’s ability to import smartphones, key aircraft and automobile components, and materials from many other sectors. They could have a major impact on Russian consumers, industrial operations, and employment, the official said.

The official said the potential measures would be unprecedented for Russia. They would employ tools used by former President Donald Trump's administration, and carried forward by the Biden administration, to block Chinese telecommunications company Huawei from accessing advanced semiconductors.

The basis of such an action is the fact that semiconductors that go into Huawei phones include parts that were designed in the United States, the official said. This can touch chips all around the world based on the fact that key U.S. input went into them, the official said.

U.S. officials plan to consult closely with key partners in Europe and Asia that could be implicated by these measures and to encourage coordinated efforts where appropriate, the official said.

Lol. Didn't Biden told the whole world with great fanfare that the US would "diplomatically" boycott the Olympics?..

I have only read the title but that should be flat out refused. Not even one American security official should be allowed to set foot on the mainland. They can hire Chinese ones.

Well, this is just my opinion, but these Americans should be allowed in by the Chinese authorities.

It is about being a gracious winner. Do the right thing.

We can say two things about this diplomatic boycott of the Winter Olympics Games in Beijing in a few weeks.

1) a diplomatic boycott is entirely symbolic, without real consequences

2) no one really even bothered to give that meaningless gesture, a gesture, as the list of who is doing this diplomatic boycott is about 5

Isn't there like over a 50 countries participating in the winter games? Only 5 would bother with these antics.

This is a clear diplomatic victory for the PRC.

Winners should be gracious.

Those Americans officials should be allowed in, but they must quarantine themselves.

The last time American officials came into China for a sporting event, the World Military games, after that, all hell broke loose with the pandemic.
