There might be a silver lining with Erdogan. He has ambitions to bring back the Ottoman Empire. The West as usual always tries to predict who its future enemies it will go to war with are and they always get it wrong. The West is going to fear the new Ottoman Empire more than China because of its proximity. Turkey has to "gobble up" other countries for it to be a true superpower and the West isn't going to like that. The rise of modern China was done without war, conquering, and invading. Turkey will have to do that for the Ottoman Empire to be reborn. Turkey has a long way to go to becoming a superpower and it will be a mess that the West will have to deal with along the way. As it was said in the 2014 Godzilla movie... "Let them fight!"

Thats because our ancestors had the wisdom of conquering all the fertile land of East Asia except Red River delta, Han river Valley, and Kanto plains (which we rendered as tributary vassal instead). Long live the mighty Chinese empire.

So what's the purpose of the said article? And what sort of actions does the writer and readers of WSJ want, expect, and demand from their government to do that's nothing short of catastrophic result for the global economy.

This article is yet again nothing but an alarmist nonsense designed to scare monger the sheeps into acquiescence and subjugation of their collective rights to their military-security-intelligence-complex.
Americans are still buying Made in China. It's a part of the strategy to get Americans angry claiming China is "sneakily" doing something the US is already doing and to choose not to buy anything from China instead of enacting laws forcing them not to. That gives China an excuse to retaliate.

They are just trying to stop their own civil war by finding another external danger

I don't think a violent civil war will happen, but i can imagine large disobedience like in the 60/70s that would hamper civil society and economic growth

This is absurd politics. Sputnik I believe, had one of the best efficacy in published peer reviewed studies.

Interestingly sinovac and sinopharm are recognised in Australia. Despite continued smearing of chinese vaccines in the Western media. That Chinese money from students and tourists can't be resisted I guess. Talk about hypocrisy.

Lol Comrade Manchin
It's all theatre and show. Despite controlling Presidency, House, and Senate, it appears that President Biden and Democrats are only as strong as their most conservative member. That tells me they half-agree with Manchin to slim down the BBB bill even further. If it's not Manchin taking the blame, it would be Sinema.

US politics is all theatre, posturing, and lying to the public. The oil and gas lobbyist fill Manchin's pockets to kill the climate provisions and Green energy in the bill.
