where did it say that any law was broken? truckers will drive through any road that they are allowed and no law will be broken,
Show me the quote where it says a law has been broken, It only mentioned that overweight trucks caused the accident and this is an obvious observation, Is this really the only cause?
The law says that a driver can not drive over any road with a load exceeding the legal limit of his truck and the road. Truckers or any motorist can NOT drive anywhere they want. You should know that if you have a driving license.

The driver in this case has a load of 198 metric tonnes. That is almost doubled the overload record of last incident that you quoted. He got a permit for 198 tonnes to drive through a section between Shaanxi and Henan. But he drove beyond that section into Hubei province.

The truck company claims that they have acquired over-size permits in Henan and Hubei, but they are not clear why the driver did not get off the highway at Qingdong exit. However, "The Paper" could not find any records of the alleged permits in Henan and Hubei provinces. "The Paper" tried to contact two drivers, but failed to get responses.

This means that the company knows that the truck should have never get on that bridge. And the company or drivers did not apply permission beyond Shaanxi.

《超限运输车辆行驶公路管理规定》(下称《管理规定》)显示,大件运输车辆“未按许可的时间、路线、速度行驶公路的”,视为违法超限运输。

This is the regulation of over-sized and over-loaded vehicle. It says "it is illegale to drive any over-sized vehicle on the road out of permitted time, route and speed". Not only the load is limited, but also the route and time.

In another report:
In Hubei before driving on the bridge, the driver acquired a new permit of 99 tonnes. The driver is dead now. His company has accepted the responsibility. The driver and his company knows how heavy the load is, but yet acquired a permit only up to 99 tonnes. Did they lie to the road administration authority? Or did they bribed some officials? Did they fabricated the permit?

In all possible scenario, it is a criminal act of somebody, and there is an ongoing investigation. One thing can be concluded already, there is no fault in the design of the bridge.

So it looks like you didn't understand what the official statement was saying. Maybe they have different traffic laws in your part of the world, but in China, there are laws on how much weight a vehicle can carry on any particular stretch of road. The statement that those trucks were overloaded means they were breaking laws on load limit on that bridge.

You can perhaps start by introducing a law to regulate the height allowed for vehicles, penalize any violation and/or provide clear warnings to drivers for low bridges, etc. I'm sure you get the idea.

I think you guys can figure out what is reasonable or not depending on cost of lives and damages,

When the cost in property and lives is high enough, you do what you need to do.
You must not have read my post till the end.
Here it is again.
The police said the heavy motor vehicle exceeded 4.5m in height at the time of the accident and that it was on the road without police escort, which is illegal in Singapore.
.
Height limit 4.5M and for cargoes that are more than 4.5m high, they have to engage police escort to guide them safely to their destination.

Basically it all boils down to $$$ savings for offenders.
Culprits endanger others by overloading to reduce trips, or to save cost by not engaging a police escort.

LOL if they make overhead bridges 8M high to accomodate these LAW BREAKERS trying to save the cost of a police escort and having to take a longer route.
You must be an atheletic young man but please have consideration for old folks, haha.

Some roads have height warning system in case driver didn't realize their cargo is too high.

I wonder in the following incident, what other cause might be besides the apparent over-height. Bad design of the road perhaps. But certainly not the fault of the driver. ;)

And? They’d only laugh at the sheer Jai Hindness of it, and rightly so. At least the folks on Dingshen are laughing hysterically at how dumb they sound. It is a middle schooler’s idea of masculinity and a classic case of arrested development.
Well, you can joke and laugh about all the citizens of another superpower wanting to destroy your country and slaughter your people, until one day it suddenly becomes not so funny anymore.
