Our politics had fully evolved, from personality to actual issue. President Duterte will run for the Senate, his intention is to reform and voted out the politicians that is beholden to the oligarchy elites, the last remaining bastion . While not supporting BBM due to different party affiliation, they are actually allies, by standing to his party principle rather than supporting a popular candidate, it set the stage. Your worries about Pacquiao and Isko Moreno had been unwarranted and please see the survey below as proof, people see their policy as sloganeering with motherhood statement, a tactic employed by Traditional Politician which we want to replaced. Lately there are news about Chinese coast guard hostile action, it barely generate any major reaction as people concerns are local with the pandemic and economy. I think the US had a major problem, we will still have friendly relationship BUT strategically it had been downgraded, instead of being a follower we will act independently following our owned interest. With that generation shift happening on the ground and in Geopolitics, the American are hard press to hold the tide. This is one of the Asian Spring happening and I think there are more, in Japan, Vietnam, Singapore and SK all major US allies in the Pacific. As the Rise of China had been demonized the effect on the ground for the ASEAN and Asia in general had been positive, aside from economics, Politically it gave us that IMPORTANT VOICE in international affairs. We had now the tool talk with the West in equal footing cause they needed us and we will not trade that away and return to the old way of western hegemony. That is what the West are afraid of and we are thankful for China.
Addendum: If the Philippine shifted that will spell the end of America hegemony in the region, the symbolism is hard to miss, the most PRO AMERICAN country in the region so the US will attach great significance, greater than Japan and SK, for us here it gave us great leverage, the Chinese knew it and know how to play the game. It's China soft power, aside from cultural and economic aspect people sometimes miss the political significant that entails. We had an alternative and it doesn't involved the West.

@Xsizor bro there is a power struggle inside the Biden administration and DNC in particular, formerly it's a two way fight between the Clinton faction ( Buttigieg) and Obama (Kamala) now it had become three because people that had benefited in this current administration want to hold on power. I think he should care more about finishing this term first. On the first day he became the president of the US, I predicted him to be a one term or even half term president.
