Hi brother, I need to ask you for some clarification on some ancient history in the Philippines.

Is this Mr. Bong, the son of Ferdinand Marcos and Imelda Marcos?

Do people believe that once the Cold War was over, the CIA let the people revolution happen, with the mob storming the presidential palace, and the mob took away all of Imelda's shoes.

I sort of remember that President Marcos was kind of pro-American, and this was how he was repaid for his loyalty, the 99% taking his wife's shoes.

Marcos is a stateman but he is ahead of his time, his overture to China and his independent foreign policy is one of the reason for his downfall BUT we must not forget the abuses happen during Martial law, another reason he demand financial compensation for the 2 US bases and about the shoes its a myth most of those were made in the Philippine as a gift because Imelda is their endorser and model.

Yes they are Hua Qiao, a major difference , Marcos Family are farmers/businessman while Aquino is from the landed Elites

Not familiar with Phil politics but sounds good if they can be more strong and independent minded like their father. Seems like Philippines have suffered too often with weak minion-like leadership.

@Dolcevita bro what we need is continuity, like the US every new administration they will dismantle the previous administration achievement and re start anew it is costly and divisive. The oligarch knew that and they used it to control gov't policy and beat their business competitor. Duterte destroyed the iron bowl of oligarch rent seekers BUT 6 years is not enough a continuation is needed with BBM ( a victim of oligarch) presidency and Sarah the next election cycle, additional 12 years is enough to totally eradicate the oligarchy and feudal system in my country.

The Filipinos I know are full of smart hard-working and gentle people. It is unfortunate that it is still generally a poor developing country. I believe the Philippines has so much potential to prosper and solve the social problems given a strongly consistent leadership. It in unfortunate that the government has not yet fully escape the inherited oligarchy legacy of the past. Wishing you all the best.
