anonymous donations of several hundreds of thousands of dollars tend to be unmasked pretty quickly in the election cycle, and i'm sure the MSS will be taking a special keen eye on pompeo's election bid.

Maybe the content was okay, but the presentation and music made it a bit too propagandaish/childish like almost all the english editorial content from China. Don't know where china is getting there propaganda strategy from... maybe some can't-make-it-in-the-west and the only skill they have is their native-tongue westerner english teacher?
The worst part is that since social media permeates pretty much every facet of modern society, it is very hard to do damage control. At this point probably even the Papau New Guineans know about Afghans falling off transport planes…
